Intergalactic trip in preparation

A little something I've played around with: A large ship, like the Star Wars Executor. Add docks for a planet ship or two. As well as shuttles. Use the Executor to fly to a system. Undock the planet ship, fly in formation with the Executor, undock a Shuttle, fly to and dock with the planet ship, fly...

Never mind the Skylone, try the default Shuttle.

No cockpit views, but press F2, add your own cameras. (Or is that shift-F2? I think it's shift-F2.)

That's the first generation of anti-bodies fighting off the second vaccine. Maybe it's a good sign?

Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall from here? Practice, practice, practice... ;) I know you like flying that ship with the cockpit, but I suggest you start with a different ship, with less powerful engines. That will give you more fine control. Either that, or edit the .sss file to change engin...

Keep an eye on the VS (vertical speed) — if it is negative, you are descending, If it's a big negative number, hope your airbags are in good shape! if it is positive, you are climbing. If it's a big positive number, get ready to say hello to space travel. To climb, make sure  your velocity vector is...

Can't help you there, I don't obsess over numbers like FPS, and I never monitor them. I have no idea what mine runs at.

As for the flickering, that might be the auto-exposure system. Still has some bugs, I think.

Baby steps. It might be easier to learn about flying in atmosphere and orbital manœuvers separately, one at a time. Again, that flight school link explains all the tools, buttons, and terminology you might see and need in S.E.

Hey other Alex, what is this thing I've found on Alexworld?  It looks ominous and it's right next to Alexworld's moon! scr02422.jpg Clouds. Normals for 2D clouds get a bit funky when going vertical and viewed from below (cloud funnel appears to be lit from the wrong side). Home key is the camera zo...

With the HUD in Orbital mode, there are three numbers underneath the right side of the heading tape: V, V 1 , and, V 2 .  V is your current velocity relative to the reference body. V 1 is the velocity required for a circular orbit (at your current altitude — note that this velocity will also be perp...

You are not doing your homework. I can't explain them any more clearly than this: Familiarizing yourself with the controls . Scroll down a little... For your current problems, ship engines may be too powerful, so you have no fine control. Planet's atmosphere too dense, harder to control a ship. Also...

37172 The rotating bases you mentioned in the other thread, are they actual Workshop add-ons or do you have to construct them yourself using the tools you mentioned? Here . And as far as I know, there are no ships with rotating parts while other parts remain stationary. I do not believe that is pos...
