With the HUD in Orbital mode, there are three numbers underneath the right side of the heading tape: V, V 1 , and, V 2 .  V is your current velocity relative to the reference body. V 1 is the velocity required for a circular orbit (at your current altitude — note that this velocity will also be perp...

You are not doing your homework. I can't explain them any more clearly than this: Familiarizing yourself with the controls . Scroll down a little... For your current problems, ship engines may be too powerful, so you have no fine control. Planet's atmosphere too dense, harder to control a ship. Also...

What web browser do you you use? (POLL)

I'm surprised more people here are not using Brave. Which is what I am using.

37172 The rotating bases you mentioned in the other thread, are they actual Workshop add-ons or do you have to construct them yourself using the tools you mentioned? Here . And as far as I know, there are no ships with rotating parts while other parts remain stationary. I do not believe that is pos...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

Thank you for the tips... It all worked great! I set keys for accelerating and decelerating time but when I use it, it just says "Time Scale 0x" and doesnt change... It seemed to work for a bit and I could set the time scale but it stopped working and I cant get it to work any longer... D...

Pick a planet with less dense atmosphere to practice. The scroll wheel will increase your main engines, but if you are on the ground, you will likely not go anywhere (unless you are pointing up, at a reasonably steep angle). And keeping auto-level on will prevent you from making pitch adjustments. T...

37167 Well I was trying to get the ship to go faster than the paltry 1.85 m/sec I was getting.  I tried using the mouse scroll wheel to increase the speed but it had no effect. Looks like you were on the ground. Use the hover jets first to get off the ground. Planet HUD? Hor (horizon) mode is what ...

37074 Hey, what kind of troubles have you gotten into with ships in 0.990? I haven't noticed any big change since 0.998 (although there are obvious issues), what did you see break? Oh! Another thing that bugs me with the ships — and it is also an issue in .9.8.0, but not fixed in .9.9.0 — when you ...

Flying ships in atmosphere can be tricky. As I mentioned earlier, the flight model is very rudimentary at this time.  Flying in denser atmospheres causes more problems, and you are on a planet with over six times the Earth's atmospheric density. The faster you fly, the more lift you generate. You wi...

Vlad seem to feel that if you have interstellar spacecraft, you are most assuredly in the future. :) Oh, I think you asked earlier, Ctrl-F11 will make a screenshot with menus and other information included (like the one attached). And as for the free-flight mode as per the bottom left menu:  Free fl...

Oh, I wouldn't mind sending you the files for these ships, but I never seem to finish them, plus I may have (make that definitely have) modified some of the files and textures I used from other packs.

You can set any ship to rotate, but as soon as you touch any of the autopilot functions, it will stop.

Yes, free flight mode — the 1, 2, or 3 key on the upper row of keys (not the number pad), should work the same as Planetarium mode. Planetarium and Flight Sim mode are two completely separate modes as of 990. Where you go in one will have nothing to do with the other. They even have completely diffe...

37120 Did you make these ships yourself?  I can't find them in either version!  I usually prefer cockpits but I like yours too.  Can you make them rotate? Yes, the ship in the previous post and the space station in the one above were made from parts generously made available by  ettore_bilbo  (he h...
