Re: Artist Rendition-Accurate Exoplanets

Can you take an artist rendition and put in on a planet in Space Engine?
i have since learnt that its unfortunately not possible to apply custom textures to planets, you just have to rely on the procedural generation. oh well, maybe thats something for 1.0 and later versions

Re: General suggestions for SpaceEngine

62 new moons were recently discovered around Saturn, bringing the total up to 145. these should definitely be added to SE at some point

Re: General suggestions for SpaceEngine

It would also be cool if we could see plate tectonics shift with time warping and we could see stars actually orbiting their galaxy. also, what if we could see solar systems being created, and destroyed, along with planets.
in a decade maybe

Re: Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.990

I believe the default controls for this are the comma key for decreasing and the period key for increasing it
pretty sure thats the exposure controls

Earth: Robert Skuridin and Supersean08 (surface), Harold Schmidt (clouds) Colors based on Celestia Origin
as a Celestia user, i say that while CO's Earth texture is quite pretty, it is NOT true-colour. would be better off going with a texture more akin to Celestia 1.7.0's default Earth texture ...

Re: Artist Rendition-Accurate Exoplanets

honestly no, it looks great, but if its possible to use custom textures in SE (which i swear i can remember being a thing), then the author could incorporate the actual artists' rendition textures that were used in the official renders

Re: General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Maybe letting each user select their own color and font for markings and labels is the best option?
would definitely be the best route to take. that way, people with vision impairments or disorders can set their constellations to be the best that suits them

edit: oh wow, 100th page!

Re: General suggestions for SpaceEngine

a very big issue with constellations in 0.990 is that the constellation boundaries are rendered in a very deep blue colour, which is an eye-sore since it is hard to see them properly against the black background of space. using a colour palette more akin to the red and turquoise one celestia uses ...

Re: What's your favourite music in SE?

1. Lokijar - SE Subtitle | it just goes hard and fits really well with SE cinematic footage
2. A.e.r.o - Orion | as my friend SpaceGeorge said, it's a banger, and an ethereal one at that
3. Akira - The Blithering Heights (fm mix) | really soothing and calm but still goes hard
4. Goodstreet ...

AMD has done amazing things, did you know the new 7950x CPU can run on air cooling and not even a great air cooler?
trying to make their products as efficient and powerful as possible seems to be AMD's thing

What is weird, however, is that the day side atmosphere and the night side atmosphere have different colors (usually complementary colors)
pretty sure thats normal(?)

  - Something like a telescope for looking at distant objects. You can change the zoom power of the telescope and set it to track a given object.
im pretty sure thats in SE by default so i dont know why it wouldnt be in the VR version
