Unusual weather

Caught another ice halo display the other day. Nowhere near as good as the pyramidal crystal display here last summer, but this is probably the best so far this year.

Celestia Origin Textures in Space Engine

Agree! Space Engine is much more interesting and qualitative than Celestia origin  Moreover the forum of Space Engine is far better and pleasant to use than Celestia forum I found.

Books

I can recommend to read The Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson about colonization, terraforming and long-term results of that. It is what space concerned. I can't tell the exact amount of books I read in my life as I love to read and at university I studied literature

Science and Astronomy News

With knowledge human has now - it is hard to believe that we can see signs of alien technologies somewhere near us :? If they are - I think they are just out of reach for the present.
What about other news: mostly we hear news from NASA and ESA, but I want to share with you UK aerospace news . They ...

Sci-Fi (and other genre) Movies & TV Series

I also watched The 100 and of course I can list a lot of stupid things there but still it has so many drawbacks that they turn into advantages. The fantasy of the writers is limitless, what will happen in the next five minutes is almost impossible to predict. The series has a high dynamic: when the ...

What are you doing in Quarantine?

For me nothing really changed during quarantine as before I was able to work from home too. It always was better for me than working from affice as I save time on the road and choosing outfit for the office :D But I also aquired a new hobby - growing greens, which I add to salads. Yes, it sounds ...

What other games do you play?

Games I played recently: The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Detrot: Become Human. What I like in these games most: choices you make affect the course of game. Especially in Detroit. Also I am not great fighter or shooter so I played at minimal difficulty. I enjoy the plot more than battles.

Can someone ...

Terraforming our Solar System one object at a time

Let me join this game :) at first I thought that I won't be able to guess any of that, but then I recognized Pluto as it is the smallest one here. Then Mars and Moon. But after that I started to get confused so I checked the spoiler to find out the truth;) Anyway I liked such kind of entertainment ...

Space; How did you get interested in it?

I am interested since 4th grade, my father gave me encyclopedia about space exploration, starts, planets and everything connected with it. I was amazed by the articles and pictures there so much that I took that book everywhere despite it was heavy. Also I visited planetarium and that was ...

Science and Astronomy News

Yes and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Space Engine is very similar to this view. I charted a 12 hour trip to the center of the galaxy from Earth and made a video about that and it looks very much like this!
I would love to watch your video if it possible? 12 hours isn't too short? :P ...
