Hi. I'm Ada Palmer, a professor at the University of Chicago (and science fiction writer). My university is running an exoplanet settlement themed educational game this year (intended to foster research and give the undergrads something exciting to help keep morale up during COVID). The different classes will be designing their new settlement together: poly-sci classes making the law code, architecture classes designing the capital city, oceanography classes picking the creatures for the oceans, etc., a big thing across campus. One thing we need is images to use to represent the planets and features in the exoplanet system, to help students visualize the new worlds they're settling.  A lot of the images you all have been posting here are gorgeous and exactly the kinds of thing we need. If any of you Space Engine image-making experts might be willing to help me with making images for the university to use, please contact me at [email protected]  Ideally we'd love to generate the main planet they're settling on with a custom continent set that we've generated in a map (i.e. using the custom textures feature) but I'm too new to Space Engine to figure out how to turn a map into a custom planet. Many other features we need (gas giants, the star etc.) can probably be generated via clever screencapping of bodies already in the Space Engine universe. Anyone interested in helping please contact me?  I can promise you credit, positive publicity in the educational world, and lots of enthusiastic gratitude!

Hold up...
Aborygen, did you somehow get access to the upcoming volumetric black hole disc update? How?!
And even if you didn't, it looks so accurate and so good!

Thank you, but everything was done in 0.9.9.0 version.
To be more specific i simply put my custom nebula in place where black hole was :)

Yes, indeed, all from 980.  No post editing, but I often play with the IR shift and night light brightness settings (ctrl-F4 menu), as well as the exposure. The volcano pic, for example, definitely has the IR and night lights setting turned up a little to emphasize the lava glow.

Sadly, I don't think I saved any of these locations. But I do have probably nearly 200 worlds saved in my user-eng-db.cfg file. I should probably prune it, some are just so-so places to visit. (How jaded I've become. ;) )

I think it's listed as SagB "Sag dSph" in Space Engine, a small companion dwarf galaxy to our Milky Way, it has become one of my favourite places to wander around. Very dense with star systems and plenty of terran worlds. Not to mention a great view of the Milky Way itself.
