vlad01, I spent the last couple days messing with the various tonemaps, tweaking my reshade, and playing around with the expanded visuals menu.  I don't think any of the other testers have really played with it much and its quite amazing what you can pull off.

Will those adjustments be available in the full release?  They sure look handy! I love the results and find it hard to get my head around that they are produced on a home PC.  They look way better than even NASA's artist renditions, the lighting and tones tricks me into feeling they are real, especially the milkyway, planets and terrain.

It would be neat if we could expand the SE graphic settings even further by using something like an ENB as you would with games like Skyrim or Fallout. I mean, don't get me wrong, SE is already very photorealistic - but an ENB could shore up any graphical weaknesses. Could something like that be integrated into SpaceEngine Doc?

I don't know if you seen some of the streams of 990 but it has way more setting that the current version has.  I think with what Doc can add it would be more than enough.

Indeed. Inevitably though, people will want to stretch the game engine - and once it's out on platforms like Steam, you'll probably see mods made by unaffiliated gamers for 4K textures and super-reflections/refractions and stuff like that. That's why I used Elder Scrolls: Skyrim as an example - aesthetically, that 2011 game still has good vanilla graphics even by our modern standards - but websites like Nexus and Steam Workshop are full of HD mods and photorealistic or surrealist ENB presets. I'm pretty sure SE will be the same.

But yes, the new graphic settings in 0990 are awesome and I look forward to tweaking them for glorious screenshots and psychedelic space journeys :).

I use ReShade SweetFX for SE. The colors mutch better.

Good point. I used Sweet FX for Skyrim, among other games, because the ENBs made my computer go supernova :idea:. Unfortunately, I uninstalled SpaceEngine for memory reasons before I discovered Sweet FX.
