Planets with life palette overhaul for 0.9.9.0, this one is taking a very long time as there are many palettes and many types of planets these can apply to so getting them right is time consuming.

More random planets, I think it is very close to done as just about every planet has natural tones and there is a wide range of variation including variations within planets with life.

Few weeks well spent, planets now look like planets and not cartoons

Thank you so much for this. These planets look absolutely awesome! As someone who has a hobbiest's foundation in geology and spent years researching comparative planetology as a personal obsession, I can assure you that they look fully realistic. I half expect a NASA article to come out and use these to illustrate a new exoplanet discovery (with permissions of course ).

Why, thank you, my good man. Sadly, it's not a matter of time (I have lots of that these days), but some of these were taken quite some time ago, and I don't know if I can find the information of which planet/moon it was, or if I even saved it.

But I will look, and try and keep better records in the future. :)

Edit to add (since it is the image dump thread):

Hi A-L-E-X, believe it or not, I found the first one, and even the same (or very close to it) locale. New pics with address information attached.
You can see the outline of the distant mountains and that one volcano are the same, just adjust the time of day to get the sunrise or sunset.

The third pic was more recent so not too hard to find, but not the exact locale. But there are very many mountain ranges on this world.

Wow thanks those are amazing!  And so is the one from the earthlike planet you posted with the ship in orbit, which one was that?

The "Standard orbit, Mr. Sulu" one?  That one was from just about two years ago, and just before I started to name interesting worlds. Don't think I could find that one again.

Perhaps you will like this one: RS 8474-491-8-8248566-296 A3 (Which I christened Skye for no good reason...)

Don't think it had multiple coloured-suns, but has a few dwarf moons, and eclipse shadows were fun to watch from the surface. :)
