Source of the post Apparently GQ Lupi and its planet are both Y-class brown dwarfs that look like glitched black holes.

For some reason, SpaceEngine does not seem to like the spectral class "Y6.8 V", so I changed that value to "Y6.9 V" and get this:

(I do not know where SpaceEngineer has got the value from. I can not find any information about it.)

Strange sightings

26 Mar 2019 16:18

I'm not so sure it is a problem with the spectral class of the star. I have seen this same problem with stars of all types when I turn on auto-exposure, though it doesn't happen all the time. I may also have some old shader mods enabled so that may be part of it, but I have seen this same thing happen to other stars.

It can also happen if you have an addon containing the line 'Precession 0'. This addon is actually for SE 0.980_e. It does not matter if the addon has anything to do with the star or the planets.

In SE 0980 there is a saved location called "unusual colors". From there you can see the Orion Nebula M42 from a different angle. You just need to turn the camera a little.
I think it's quite disturbing if you've watched too many horror movies in your life and are sitting alone in a dark room at night, totally lost in space and it's phenomena

Not the strangest thing here, but still an oddball. This terra with life is an irregular moon with a 1:3 spin-orbit resonance.

I have seen a massive super jupiter planet with a super jupiter moon. The planet has a mass of over 8 jupiter masses and the moon has a mass of over 4 jupiter masses.

ImageThis is a ridiculously close binary planet system consisting of an ice giant and a very dense desert. The ice giant's Roche limit is only around 22,000 km, just half of the desert's semi major axis of around 44,000 km.

Wow. I wish I had something to post here, but I haven't been able to play much recently. This is all really cool, though.

I discovered a living entity!

I decided to go intergalactic:

And all of a sudden, without any warning, I spotted it.
Strange Mr. Warp Drive. A monster grinning at me in the middle of nothingness.

Bravo! The forum SW is showing markup, instead of interpreting it (referring to my previous post)  :(
Can somebody fix this?

I've seen a couple of these planets now. What is that jagged edge supposed to be? It's not the day/night terminator; that's on the other side in a straight line. The soil itself appears to be jet black.

I found another strange world: RS 2753-7-8-16773868-1862 B3.1

It is a marine terra with life orbiting a gas giant. Doesnt sound that strange, right? Well, it orbits its planet on a retrograde inclined orbit. Still, not that strange. Well, it's orbit takes it through a gap in its parent planets rings. Yes, it orbits at an inclined angle within its parent planet's ring system. Makes for some great screenshots, though!
