Quick Question about Realism

Are you guys going to create volumetric clouds on planets like Jupiter, and the rings on Saturn,
using the same method that is used for the Nebula cloudlike formations?
That's the plan, but not by 0.9.9.0

Like all things in the SE universe, it needs to be scientifically verified to exist IRL before it can be added
I like cute pokemon and space games.

Quick Question about Realism

18 Feb 2019 09:30

I have a quick question about realism: Is reality realistic?
Our knowledge of the universe is always growing, so no. Because what we consider "realistic" isn't always what reality is.
But in the sense that due to definitions, you also could say that it is, because "realistic" means based on reality, and I'm pretty sure reality is based on reality...right?

Quick Question about Realism

26 May 2019 19:23

Hey! So I actually don't have a single clue about where to put this as I'm a newbie since today, but as the Title is about the realism in SE I might as well put it in here :D

So I've been playing around sometime with the spaceships and just had my fun traveling around, and I don't have any major problems with it, but I noticed something that bugs me.
Everytime I start SE after a day or two and want to reset the time to the current date, the orbit and so the position of my ship is not calculated into the distance and for that the planet has moved on but my ships are just at an off-shore spot and I than have to correct the position myself.

Is this somethin that's done on purpose or just not an official feature of the current version? or ist it some kinda bug?

I'm sorry by the way if this is the wrong thread, but as I said, I have no idea where to put it :)

Quick Question about Realism

Troubleshooting thread would have been a good place, it definitely has nothing to do with realism.

It's a limitation of SE at the moment. Ships are little more than an experimental feature, and have lots of issues and limitations.

Quick Question about Realism

19 Aug 2019 09:40

Are there keyboard controls that mimic [mouse (Left Click + Right Click ) + Drag], I'm trying to create a script that triggers the next location based on the distance from the object and using the W/S and Up/Down arrow keys works consistently only up to a certain distance before the velocity needs to be changed. Any ideas?

Quick Question about Realism

Does it really make sense to have massive moons and ice giants in orbit of a gas giant so close together like in solar systems? In my mind they should usually be smaller and further apart.
Just a random user on the internet, nothing to see here.

It would make sense since they would form sorta like a binary star.  Also, some gas giants are truely massive so having Earth massed or higher moons are entirely reasonable around them.

Quick Question about Realism

26 Sep 2019 09:45

I am playing spaceengine in its steam version, more recent, I would like to know if there is any modification so that the terrains of the planets are more diverse and realistic, that is to say that the terrain is varied with different biomes and if they could explain to me how I could install them I'd be very gratefull. I have seen photos of people who are super realistic, when I explore the planets, the biomes are generally flat and very repetitive, which makes it very interesting to explore the planets. Would you recommend some mod for the steam version? Thank you
