This was awesome, I'm so glad SE is getting some more recognition, even if it's peripherally!

The one thing I wish Overview had had which SE has is proper auto-exposure. SE's auto-exposure is one of the things that differentiates its visuals from so many other space sims'. In real life, space is full of stark contrasts; if there's bright starlight in your field of view, or the field of view of your camera, you're not going to be able to see the Milky Way in the background, or nebulas, or other stars. That's one of the things that makes photos of Earth and other planets so uniquely beautiful!

Overview obviously didn't have this, which was a shame as it meant one of SE's strongest features - how dang realistic it looks - was missing.
In any case though, I thought it was really well done - I was surprised just how good the production values were actually.

Overview is focused on science and explanation, not on a visual realism. Also auto-exposure is not very well implemented, it not always behave as intended, especially in VR.

I know I'm late to the party, but I gotta say congrats to SpaceEngineer. This is the kind of recognition I've been wanting SE to receive for a long time, and now that it's here, I'm very excited for the future. :)
I like cute pokemon and space games.

I hope soon. Oculus review team is really scrupulous. They want OV to be like a multi-million AAA title: perfect, polished and run at 90 FPS at any time. This is really annoying: too much effort for not clear perspectives... Steam already selling OV during more than a month, they don't have so severe demands for the release.

To be fair, Steam will let pretty much anything on its platform (see Jim Sterling's Direct to Video series for some ghastly examples).

I entirely understand, and it was great.

Hope you get somewhere with auto-exposure again some day! When it works right, it's the single greatest boost in immersive visuals IMO - because it means the images your seeing in the game look much more like the real life space images (of Earth) etc. that you see... with planets standing out stark against the blackness of space (and you can see wonderful views of the Milky Way etc. as well, but only when you're on the night-side of a planet... not when there's a gigantic star shining in your eyes at the same time! This increases visual variety as well.)
