If I rename a procedural generated object and "save" it, the name is gone by the next SE start and the RS-*** number is back. Is there a way to make the names "stick" somehow?

What does anisotropy level do?

Level of anisotropic filtering on textures, I think. Less may be faster.

But even when I'm on very flat land with textures stretching off to the horizon, I don't see any difference in the graphic quality from lowering anisotropy levels.

How often have you seen polar ice caps in 0.990? Does it seem like SE doesn't generate ice caps on worlds that should have them?

A couple of observations about build 1690: (1) This is a bug -- the angular value for field of view doesn't change when you zoom the camera in or out. (2) Superscripted characters are OK, but subscripted characters look a little too low.

Yeah I agree with you. I'd suggest use Imgur it's easier to upload pictures then share on forums without downloading to computer because pictures from Google Drive/account requires downloading pictures to your computer to able see.

Could you see the picture in the previous post I made about polar ice caps? I edited my post to use a different Google URL; can you see it now?

This is not a bug. Only a missing feature.
You have clicked into the FOV input field:

SpaceEngine then expects you to make an input. So go again with the mouse into the input field and press Enter.
Then the FOV value will change again.

The missing feature: It would be good if the input field would close automatically, if you click somewhere else on the screen.

This is a problem, though: if you click on any of the input fields in the camera control menu, and without entering any text click on one of the other input fields, the previous input field disappears. If click on all of the fields, all of them will disappear except for the last one you clicked. All the input fields will reappear if you enter some text.

The subscripted Jupiter symbol ("1M[sub]♃[/sub]") is too small and hard to read. Should bold fonts also be included for the main menu and locations menu?

That doesn't look intentional.

Just bought the steam version after using the old version for a long time, sorry if this has been asked before but how do I go back to the old camera settings for planetary exploration? The camera now always rotates so that the surface is always straight down with respect to the camera. I find this very jarring and hard to explore the way I want to. Is there a way to toggle this off? It's very annoying that I can't use Q/E keys without having to wait like 10 seconds just for it to go back to the way I don't want it to be.

Thanks in advance and for this wonderful release!

You can turn off auto horizon on planets in settings
