What about us who do not have a steam account?

Of course there will probably be a cracked version which doesn't require you to install Steam, but are you happy with people using cracked versions of a program that is free anyway, just to be able to have it without having to install Steam as well? That IMO defeats the very purpose of having a Steam only version in the first place. People who don't want steam will likely use this version as a substitute to a site version. The user IMO should be given freedom of choice to install SE the way he wants provided it's still free. Of course not everyone will agree with me here. Some won't mind this and others have different reasons but even some people who already have Steam, might still want a standard version. Whatever the reason, I'm in favor of giving user a choice here and have multiple ways to get the program, not force him to only one option, that is likely not desirable for everyone.[/font]

Steam is a valid platform to put SE on. Many people already have it, and it isn't like steam is malware or anything. To each his own, but what is so bad about having to have steam? If it's the forced launching through steam then I can understand.
