I don't mean to sound pessimistic, and I'm not asking when it will be released. Rather, I'm now more concerned if it *will* be released at all. There hasn't been any updates in a while. and this chat seems to have gone down in activity, which brings me some worry. I love space engine so much, and I want more transparency so I can rest assure the project is going well. That's all.

I really would love to see volumetric clouds, it will put planet views on another level

1) If there was an update to post, it would be posted. Asking if there are any updates is not productive.
2) Don't you already have another forum account?

I know it's a silly question but how much of a performance hit should I expect when the next version drops? I think my system specs are in my signature but in case it's not.

i7 7700 stock frequency obviously since it's a non K SKU
GTX 1060 6gb
16 GB DDR4 @2400 mhz.
My System.

Starshines, those specs are fine for SE. The next version shouldn't have significantly worse performance than the current one on the same hardware.

Is there going to be:
1. 3D lifeforms?
2. 3D planet ring debris?
3. Geological events (volcano eruptions, earthquakes, etc.?)
4. White holes, pulsars and magnetars?
5. Rocks on the ground?
I don't expect earthquakes, but the rest should be added.

There's a TODO list, If I recall correctly your list is more or less included.
Is there going to be:
4. White holes?
.
Why would they waste time to recreate something we don´t know even if it exist?
