Forum data in the old website were impossible to port in the new one, so it will remain available as reference. with no updates, it will soon fall back in engine search results.
What performance issues are you referring to?

Surely the existing data in the 0980 version will be updated with latest data in 0981.

Thanks for the answer Mosfet ;)

I thinks moons for known extrasolar planets should be procedurally generated.

Post suggestions in General suggestions for Space Engine, that thread was created so people could suggest stuff to be in Space Engine.

It's not in the To-Do list so maybe the developer doesn't plan to implement so, but if procedural planets for catalog stars exists I see no reason why catalog planets shouldn't have moons. However, it's not a simple feature so don't expect to see it in the current version, if it will be implemented it will probably be in the next ones. :)

Well I had big performance drop in latest version, before I had like 300 fps or something now it often stutters for me.
I have GTX 1070, i5 4690k and 16 gb ram
Btw how do you end this quote thing?

Star Citizen's have made a lot of progress on Procedural Volumetric Clouds and Procedural Planets. Space Engine is also using ray marching for galaxies and nebulae in 0.981. Will it also use ray-marching for Star-Nova and Volumetric Clouds? Are there any long-term plans to improve procedural terrain generation for smoother and fluid experience and using PBR shading ??.
