i don't thinks that is a bug. maybe rhere is always a distance limit from the water for the grass indipendently if we have a river or the sea

It sounds like you're talking about a phenomenon called "z-fighting."

Well, look at it this way: SpaceEngine doesn't actually have rivers that flow from high elevations down to sea level. All of the water on SpaceEngine planets is at sea level, and rivers are simply canyons that cut all the way down to sea level. All land at sea level uses the "beach" texture, and that's why riverbanks always look like beaches.

I'm agree.Sometimes, various species of plants such as reeds even exists IN the river, especially shoal areas.
I'm always ready to see news, regardless what is it.

Will the textures be dependent on the stats of the planets, as in atmospheric temperature and pressure determining if a certain texture appears? Will impossible Regional cases be prevented, aka water ice next to magma without any thermocline or medium in between?

Well, in that blog post, he clearly mentioned it's worth it (worth the wait)! And also some other things can be worked more for better performance at the same time as this is developing. And if you think about it, it's a game powered by Space Engine! :) Isn't that great when you think about it? That was always the purpose of SE, being engine where other games might develop. I would say it's totally worth it, even though majority of players don't have VR to see this, patients is needed!
And yeah, Merry Catholic Christmas!  :)

He wrote it. He had to work nonstop on expanding and testing new features for scripting scenarios and User Interface, needed for this OVERVIEW VR experience.

"The OVERVIEW is currently under review at Vive Port, and we are working on submitting it to Oculus Store and Steam. The Oculus Store require some additional work per SE, which could take few weeks. Release on all platform probably will be in early 2018" Does this mean the release date for the new update is in early 2018? :D
