Just curious: will specific textures have 3d models (eg: individual rocks) also, is the transition between textures going to be smooth?

Rocks won't actually be modeled in this update, they'll still just be textures. And I think they're supposed to be pretty smooth, that's what SpaceEngineer was currently working on last time I checked.

I would like to remind everyone - again - not to make off-topic posts in this thread. There is a very clear notice in the opening post detailing what is and is not allowed here. Users will receive ONE (1) warning if they make off-topic posts. A second offense will result in a temporary ban from the forum.

Please respect the rules of this thread.

There are still some bugs with grass interacting near water. Please report any bugs and glitches you find, so that the developers fix them.

i don't thinks that is a bug. maybe rhere is always a distance limit from the water for the grass indipendently if we have a river or the sea

It might be a bug, you never know for sure. Let's see what the developers know.

It sounds like you're talking about a phenomenon called "z-fighting."

If you have a specific complaint, please voice it in the bug reports section. This thread is for talking about the new work SpaceEngineer has done on the upcoming 0.990 release, regardless of how important individual users think existing issues are.

Well, look at it this way: SpaceEngine doesn't actually have rivers that flow from high elevations down to sea level. All of the water on SpaceEngine planets is at sea level, and rivers are simply canyons that cut all the way down to sea level. All land at sea level uses the "beach" texture, and that's why riverbanks always look like beaches.

Cesare, you continue to make obvious points and non-constructive suggestions as "SE must be done", "Make better SE" and "Fix bugs". You keep filling the forum with these messages, sometimes even in bursts of 5 posts. You have been warned of this trollish behaviour that in the end is only a way of disrupting the forum.
But you still keep doing this and you are now currently warned for off-topic posting on the Work in Pogress Thread by another moderator and still insist in making off-topic discussions. I'm not going to put you another warn for the same thing but I think you should consider (if you are willing to be part of this community) the fact that you are in the verge of been banned. No explanation will be given next time if you insist in this behaviour.

I have cleaned up a few posts that were users moderating other users, which not only is off topic but is creating an uncomfortable atmosphere, so please leave any moderation to moderators. Also a reminder that direct insults attacking another user for any reason can lead to an instant ban so don't do that.

In addition to cleaning up a bit further I have also issued a temporary ban for a certain user for ignoring a previous warning.  Do not make off-topic posts in this thread and do not ask when updates will be released because you should already know the answer.

I would also like to remind people - for the second time in the past week (!!!) - that there is a notice in the opening post about what can and cannot be posted here. This is NOT a thread for any and all possible posts related to 0.9.9.0, this is a thread SPECIFICALLY for SpaceEngineer to talk about his work, and for the community to comment on and ask questions about his posts. No other topic of discussion is acceptable. If you want to talk about anything else, do it in another thread.

Will the textures be dependent on the stats of the planets, as in atmospheric temperature and pressure determining if a certain texture appears? Will impossible Regional cases be prevented, aka water ice next to magma without any thermocline or medium in between?
