Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

20 Aug 2017 11:17

Hi. My problem regards the Stereoscopic 3D feature.. i've been always able to turn it on but not after installing the new update. I press the slash button to activate it but it always shows "Stereoscopic 3D: disabled" .. Does this happen to anyone of you?

Note: the same thing about the rectangle during the redshift effect happened to me when i got that same view from the surface of Vela Pulsar

Source of the post I have a very strange problem, I went to install the new 0.980 patch, I started up the game, and this happend:

Delete the 'main-user.cfg'. It is in the 'config' folder. SpaceEngine will create a new one from the 'main-def.cfg' file.

But first you should change the 'Language' parameter to 'eng' in the section 'Interface' in the 'main-def.cfg'. (Or to your language.) (If you're not a Russian.)

// Interface settings
Interface
{
    Language                "rus"    // interface localization

to
// Interface settings
Interface
{
    Language                "eng"    // interface localization

Ok, I deleted the main-user.cfg, the Interface settings were already set to English or "eng" and I started the game up, and nothing changed. All text or sprite is still covered with a black square. Did I misunderstand the instructions? I might have a few files that might be in folders that they shouldn't.

You have obviously made no new installation of SE 0.980.
Make a new installation.

Yes, I'm seeing it on neutron stars too. Here I'm on the surface of the Crab Nebula's pulsar looking up at its accretion disc. Do you also have an NVIDIA graphics card?

- Make a copy of your old SpaceEngine folder to keep any addons you have.
- Uninstall SpaceEngine.
- If the old folder still exists, delete it so that all additional files are gone.
- Re-install SpaceEngine.
- Unpack the patch into the SpaceEngine folder.
That's it.
If everything is going well, you can later copy little by little your addons to the new folder.

Installation and Quickstart

Installation

Before installing SpaceEngine, please check that your system meets the program’s hardware requirements:
                 Minimum                                       Recommended
CPU          Dual-core 2 GHz                            Quad-core 3 GHz
RAM          2 GB                                            4 GB
Graphics    Nvidia or AMD with 1 GB VRAM*    Nvidia or AMD with 2 GB VRAM
OpenGL     3.3                                               3.3
OS            Windows XP                                  Windows 7

*Dedicated video memory

When installing SpaceEngine, please do not install on top of an older version! Install to a new folder instead.

Your computer (graphics card) does not meet the requirements.
Some people are lucky, and their Intel graphics card works with SpaceEngine.
You obviously have no luck.

Anyone have any idea about this in latest 0980e patch?
► Show Spoiler

It is one of my addons but there are soo many I'd appreciate if someone can give me a hint as  to where I should look :?

Solved: It was the binary stars update 0978.pak by Cirax

On another note I have the same issue as Julian with the cube/orthogonal shaped blue shift inside blackholes/neutronstars/pulsars. And I am using Nvidia card driver version 382.53. Only low quality setting for black holes in graphic settings does not produce this issue.

Yes, but the effect used to work properly before.. i doubt it's a matter of the graphic card
