Using a joystick -- Is there a way to "auto-trim"?

01 Feb 2021 14:35

I have just begun using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick.  I have calibrated it in Windows, and that worked fine.  I am liking using the joystick with one problem.  It is very difficult to keep the nose down when flying in an atmosphere.  If I let go of the stick, the nose of the craft will go up, and of course the flight path will go up.  I would like to be able to fly a nice steady flight, like keep the nose pointed level with the surface or the horizon.  The only way to do this is to keep continuous pressure forward on the stick to keep the nose on the level.  The problem is I don't have magic fingers, and the craft will go up and down as I keep adjusting the pressure on the stick.  Is there a way to set the angle of ascent or descent, like an "auto-trim" feature, in Space Engine like there is in many other flight simulators?  If not, are you planning to add that at some point?  Thanks.
