New Intel Graphics Driver potentially breaks Spaceengine

11 Mar 2018 10:17

So after installing the new Intel Graphics Driver, Spaceengine looks like this. It ran perfectly before, however now, the graphics are entirely broken. Although it is still somewhat usable, it's a total distorted mess. Does anyone know a fix?

Did you try deleting the SpaceEngine\cache folder?  If that doesn't work, then I got nothin'.

Little Update:

Reinstalling worked, However, after installing the 0.9.8.0e patch, the graphics break again.

If you scroll slightly down the download page, you can read the system requirements.
There it says:
Minimum: Nvidia or AMD card.
There is nothing written that SpaceEngine also works with an Intel card.
If you are lucky, SE will work with an Intel card. If you are unlucky, then SE does not work.
The only solution for you would be to buy another graphics card. (Nvidia or AMD, with at least 2 gigabytes of VRam. The requirements have increased.)
