General questions about SpaceEngine

15 Jun 2018 13:00

Whilst controlling a spacecraft and after selecting a target, is it possible to reset target to none somehow? Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
No but if you build your spacecraft far away from an object then there will be no target, and no reference.

What? I don't think those are even IN spaceengine, but I think the immediate loading mode means that it will load ASAP, the asynchronous loading mode means that the loading speed will vary from fast to slow, and the intervalled loading mode is probably the slowest option, where the loading will be in segments that take forever to load.

It is in SE!
Excerpt from the main-user.cfg:
// Loader settings
Loader
{
    LoaderMode              2        // loader mode: 0 - immediate, 1 - interleaved, 2 - asynchronous

Here's a link from the old forum, but the explanation is still valid: http://old.spaceengine.org/forum/11-524-4325-16-1332931210

Unless your a lucky beta tester, you can't yet.

Who knows? I don't think anyone keeps track.

General questions about SpaceEngine

hello I would like to know how to keep the position of our ships after leaving the game, for example when I put into orbit a ship around the earth the ship orbits at an altitude of 300 km, when I leave the game and the re-lit at the same time even the same minute, the ship is now 400 000 km above sea level, so I have to rebuild a ship to put it back into orbit etc, there is not a backup system that keeps the position of the ships compared to the planets?

General questions about SpaceEngine

I apologize if this is a very stupid question, but I couldn't find an answer and am very confused. I do not understand the negative orbital elements. I will find many, many procedurally generated planets with inclinations, arguments of periapsis, and ascending nodes with negative values. I do not understand this. I looked through twenty asteroids in the Earth solar system in order to find any negative values and then check the JPL small body database in order to see how they matched up so I could figure out what the negative values meant, but every real asteroid I checked had no negative values. Only procedural planets did. I don't understand these values. What does an inclination of -0.5'' mean, how can there be a negative inclination? And an ascending node of a negative value? Do you subtract the number from the highest possible value or what? But what would be the point of that? Why wouldn't the values just be from 0 to 180 or 0 to 360 rather than negative values? Can someone please explain, I couldn't find an answer.

Hello, first I want to say that I am new here, but I have known SpaceEngine for three years and I am fascinated, my question is where can I place my SpaceEngine discoveries, since I have a YouTube channel where I have some images that I would like you to see.

Best place is this section in the forum linked below, exactly the areas for images, findings and video.

Can anyone suggest a VR headset.   I have quadcore 2.5 laptop with nvidia windows 10. I saw a nvidia 942 3d 2 whatever that means.  it was released in 2011. I just discovered SE a few weeks ago ...I'm not a gamer but this isn't a game. Hat's off to Vlad and the whole team.   Thanks
