General questions about SpaceEngine

30 Nov 2017 19:28

we already had information about the composition of the planetary atmosphere, we now have information about the composition of the oceans and the planet itself, so I ask, when are we going to have information about the composition of the types of life that we find in the universe?
Idk, we are terribly biased on this since we only know the composition of 1 (one) type of life that successfully took hold of its home planet :P
but when I say this I am referring to the types of life that we find in SE
In such a hostile universe it is not necessary be the center to be special, just be alive

We already have this information, life in SE is classified as organic (carbon-based) or exotic (anything else).

General questions about SpaceEngine

  • With new reflection maps, will solar panels be reflective? And will different parts of the spacecraft have different reflections index, as in, some parts are kinda reflective, and others are a full blown mirror?
  • Since planet textures, will spaceship textures be updated as well? Not to the same extent but, just a lil' bit.

Spaceengineer, Christmas in approaching and instead of Santa Claus I want to write my letter to you! :-D

Can you give us a nice Christmas present? it does not have to be the new version, It's a lot of work, I understand, but a nice juicy news maybe? a cool new video? an unexpected feature?

After all, even if you do not come from the north pole, Russia is a very cold place! please be our Santa Claus! :-D

Sincerely,

Ettore. A 37-year-old child

SpaceEngineer, I think ettore_bilbo has a wonderful wish. Please show us that new feature you've been working on for the past week and a half  ;)

You are talking about PBR rendering, more about this in the next blog post.

???
Did you swapped ships and planets?

You can download just installer (executable installer) and install it. SE will work only with that, but if you want you can download patch e (recommended), since it fixes some stuff. :)

No, I'm asking if there will be a graphic overhaul for ships.

Not sure if this has been asked before but have you considered using Patreon for donations? As far as I know they take less money for small donations (donations around $10 and less).

User info future plans

Hello, good afternoon.

I'm not gonna ask you when you're going to launch space engine 0.9.
I just wanted to know if when it is launched in steam, the simulator will have the same name and if you can give an estimate of the price.

Personally I prefer to keep it downloadable on your website and if you have to pay it is done from the usual website and not through platforms like steam, but good.

A greeting

General questions about SpaceEngine

I apologize if the question is stupid, but I'm not a programmer. :)
SpaceEngineer has created a proprietary graphic engine for Space Engine. Could not have been developed  the SE on an existing graphics engine? For example, Unreal or Unity? Because a lot of these things already available, such as volumetric clouds. Or are these graphics engines unsuitable for procedural programming?
