General questions about SpaceEngine

08 Nov 2017 09:10

Is it intended to put systems that died just a few years or months ago? (white dwarf / neutron stars etc ...) I am saying if I will can see a star that died a few days
Considering it is extremely exceptional being able to observe systems as they die within a human lifepan, I'd say that would come up quite rarely.

in trillions of galaxies with billions of stars this can happen
In such a hostile universe it is not necessary be the center to be special, just be alive

Oh, you mean procedurally ones.
"Modelling of evolution of stars" is currently listed on "TO DO" as "uncertain if possible"

Do you know how to make an orbit for the ISS in the script?

Not possible until the next version, unless you are fine with using a rock as placeholder.

Mosfet, Thanks. That seems to be a good list of the previous versions.

It's a shame older versions are no longer available. Would be nice to have them available.

SE does not provide AR/DEC coordinates for planets, only their parent star. More precisely in solar system case you have to point at the solar system barycenter to get those coordinates.
Press shift-H until the Sun is targeted, hit F2 to open the system browser, then right-click of the mouse on the Sun. The Solar System barycenter will be chosen. AR/DEC coordinates will show up in the wiki Info window (I).

General questions about SpaceEngine

Hello, i have a suggestion for a future release of space engine, The game is amazing you do not know what your going to find in this vast universe of galaxy's  but what if we can travel further further then the reach of our universe what if we could visit other universes i bet you seen the other universes theory's how they are like orbs filled with galaxy's what if that was in space engine that would be amazing! if this suggestion was put into the development of space engine!

Multiverses were already quite a few times. Again, they are not proven, and there would be no point in adding them anyway since so much stuff is generated in the current simulaion already that no one will ever explore it completely.

Hi. This has been proposed before.
The answer is no. The multiverse hypothesis or the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics has nothing to do with that depiction of orbs filled with galaxies at all. That is not even inaccurate is just plainly wrong, more than a depiction of something is a symbol used to have some sort of pictorial allusion to the concept. Since Space Engine primary goal is to be realistic this can't be done.

Also this idea is at least very debated . No evidence has been provided for this model nor concepts for actual experiments that could discern between this and other models.

But yeah the primary reason is that SE can't depict things that we are used to just because someone used that orb-like depiction as a metaphor.

we already had information about the composition of the planetary atmosphere, we now have information about the composition of the oceans and the planet itself, so I ask, when are we going to have information about the composition of the types of life that we find in the universe?

Idk, we are terribly biased on this since we only know the composition of 1 (one) type of life that successfully took hold of its home planet :P
