I'm not proposing a new title for the game, but I wanted to try making the logo for one that have already been suggested: Far Beyond

Border are a little too wide, so it look better with bright backgrounds, and it's a little too much similar to the one of "Watch Dogs", but I think it came up pretty well. Might be useful as reference in future  8-)

Welcome to the SE community, Jra! I see this is your first post. You can formally introduce yourself here.
I like "Link to the Universe," but it still sounds too cliche. Sci-fi stole all the good titles ;/

I think something like this would depend on how large the area of space will be in the game setting.

Assume the playable area is unlimited (i.e. at least the size of the whole Milky Way).

Thank you Hornblower ! Ok, I will go there and introduce myself. Yes, that's absolutely correct, almost all is already invented in the Sci-fi, and that is a perfect and loudy call to create new things !

These names came up in my mind which are more about a story driven space engine. Like people from earth unite to discover and explore new worlds to live in. Or some military orientated space ship named USS Aldebaren (like Star Trek's Enterprise e.g.) that the upcoming game could be all about.
All in all it really depends in which direction the game is going actually. IMHO i prefer short phrases like INTO ETERNITY or latin words with some meaning about the 'mission or motivation' the player has.  BTW naming the game after the mothership players control is easy and could work very well. And the dev-team is relatively free to choose a name for it. This also gives the player something to have a relationship with (for example the Normandy in Mass Effect...man everyone who played it, actual loved that ship!)

Also by creating a name it is very good to find one with 'good-to-read/spell' capitals. Like 'Into Eternity' for example: IE. Simple, unique, like SE for Space Engine. Everyone involved knows what you talk about. Players prefer short cuts to make communication easier and it additionally gives the creator the possibility to make up longer titles.
Thats why I would not take 'SPACE' as the name for the game, even I like the idea because of its strong simplicity.

Kirby
