SpaceHopper, I think you are confusing galaxies with globular clusters. Globular clusters are much smaller, on the order of a hundred parsecs. They're essentially spherical clusters of stars and there tend to be many of them within a single galaxy.
wvfish, I confirm your observation. The procedural globulars do appear to have much fewer stars, though they are of approximately the correct size. I'm not sure of the reason for this (could be several possible reasons), but it does not appear to be a
known bug or limitation and I don't see mention of it in a quick search on the new or old forum. So perhaps it can be added to list.
