DoctorOfSpace's Mod Emporium v0.9.8.0

Hiya
Yeah thought it might be a bit of a bugger. But I think the net result would look awesome flying around in SE.
This is the book the picture and some more views it come form, and details about it can be found in there with it. And almost a timeline of its history.

There are also some other stunning images in the book like these

This book and the others in the series would be an excellent for ideas for new spacecraft for SE.

As an old Robotech fan I'd love to see a Ikazuchi Class Super Dimensional Large Cruiser .   Any Robotech ship actually would be awesome but I doubt there's any 3d models out there. :(

Would anyone consider re-modelling the spacecraft from Wing Commander Prophecy game? Someone has modelled the Vampire but I don't know who did it or what software was used. but it looks a darn sight better than the in game views.
Below is a pic of the of the re-modelled Vampire.

Nice ships!
Would be cool to see and fly them in SE. The only CAD software I know how to use is Autodesk Inventor. And I don't think it can export formats required for SE. Other than that I would not know where to start with spacecraft modelling. I got Truespace 7.6 but no manual or help files still cant figure out how to use it. I also need to learn the basics of 3D modelling for this type stuff. And then some I would think. Hence my challenge in an earlier post.
I can fly and take part in combat with the Vampire in WCP but it looks nowhere near as good the one pictured above.
Below is a short clip of the Vampire in flight captured from WCP.
The two engine pods swivel give the ship amazing manoeuvrability. You can
perform some stunningly swift changes I direction. And some great "astro"batics to boot.

I copied the stats from
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Odyssey_class

They had it at 1062, difference of 4 meters isn't that much.
Actually, I mistook the distance measurement for the length, I thought it was much shorter then that. my bad.

Please build a model of X
Yeah, as a forum, we're sorely lacking in hobbyist 3D modellers. I used to frequent the Star Trek Bridge Commander forums - that place was crawling with modellers of high calibre in its golden age. Times seem to have changed - the kids don't seem to get their kicks with 3DSmax any more!

Modelers seem to be more focused in GAME games. SE is gorgeous but at the moment is more of a glorified art project. Although i can still easily get lost for hours drooling over scenery instead of blowing things up or building things. :D
Bridge Commander had some fantastic ships. I love seeing them popup here.
I think at least some of that is because 3DSMax isn't cheap. Blender, alternatively has a steep learning curve and kinda does its own thing in regards to interface. It kinda makes sense once you've been doing it for a while but it kinda feels like different for the sake of being different to me. *shrugs*

It's also worth noting that SE is still a bit obscure. I only learned of it when my friend stumbled on it and showed it to me. Totally and absolutely worth a gig of my HDD. :D

Well, It's 3.12Gigs now with ships installed. Even still, procedural coding efficiency amazes me. 6ish years ago the majority of one planet in X-Plane 10 eats up about 80Gigs. Now we have stuff that's done on the fly on SE and, No Mans Sky that's well under 10. Even Elite Dangerous is only about 25.

The Astronaut always keeps disappearing when I get close to a view meters. Is there a way to turn it off so I can fly up directly to this object like I would do on a planets surface? The other cockpit mod isn't working for me too because I seem to loocking through everything when I fly close

Klopskopf, what version of the program and what are your depth buffer settings in the main-user file?
