Yes! Thanks Phunnie ! This is GREAT WORK! I can't wait for the update! Are you going to post it here? or on the Steam Workshop? or Discord? So that I can keep an eye :).

Also, to add, I'm planning on adding a few versions of "simulated" futures and stellar motion using proper motion of stars. Basically, just catalogs of where stars would be x number of years into the future. Of course, the farther into the future it is, the less accurate it becomes, as calculating only with proper motion assumes the stars go in a straight line at constant velocity. Still a fun idea, nonetheless.

So yeah...
Here's a gif of 1 million years of stellar motion on a 700k stars pak. Each frame is a 100k years step.

One of the great things about fixing the double stars is that it will become challenging again to find sol from a random point in the galaxy. Now it is quite too obvious :). Again thanks a lot for your continuous effort & can't wait for the release :).

Wow thanks Phunnie!  I use your 5 million star add on with 0.990 and it works well!  Will that be updated to include projected motion too?  I hope so!  Automatic download from Steam?

Updated to V3.
-Removed HIP duplicates
-Changed the available versions
-Increased range, now up to 30M stars
-Added new "future" versions where the position of stars are calculated with today's measured proper motion and radial velocity.

30M database: Ok this is insane :
► Show Spoiler
Obviously this is not for everyday use: it took ages to just to get to SE main menu. But it works :) .
I don't know how this could have possibly worked on my previous setup with only 16GB RAM :? .
So I guess if I want a 60M database I should go up to 64GB lol  .
And consequent;y the full GAIA catalog with 1billion objects should require at least half a tera of RAM :?

I have managed to load 70M stars on a 960m 4GB VRAM 16GB RAM laptop before, so it's definitely doable... It only took like 8 tries and a few hours lol

where is the new 30M database?  I could run the 5M database easily with a 6GB VRAM and 16GB RAM.  I still have the same video card but now have 32GB RAM.  Not sure if 64GB is possible on this system (it would need 4 DIMMs.)

First post, scroll down to normal versions section and it's the last one in the list. Alternatively you can click the steam workshop link (also in the first post) and it'll link to a collection with a list of all of the options.

It means that If I run it (30 million stars) with my specs with a magnitude of 7, my pc will explode? Lol.

I use Space Engine 0.9.8.0!

Thanks!  Just downloaded the 30M file.  Should I delete and replace the old 5M file with it in the same folder?  Also, was the old 5M file updated or is the one listed there the same one I've had since 0980?
Also, do the "future" files move the stars when one uses the "time accelerator" function in SE or are they just "snapshots in time" of where the stars will be at specific points in time?  Should they all be downloaded and used together (like if I move the time accelerator to specific points in time) or just one?  Should I also install the "future" files if I'm going to install the "normal" 30M file and in the same folder?  Thanks!

GAIA to SpaceEngine catalogs

Well, I deleted the old 5M file and added the 30M file to both 0980 and 0990.  Loading times are much longer to say the least.  First time loading took 8 minutes with some flickering of the opening screen in the beginning and the program was using all of my RAM (32GB!)  Second time loading was a little quicker at 6 minutes but still uses nearly all of my RAM (30GB this time.)  I'm okay with that since I'm also running Photoshop, Starry Night Pro Plus and a browser with 50 tabs open and another browser with 10 tabs open.  Moving around on a planet's surface also takes about 1-2 min to fully load the screen at 1280x1024 resolution and graphics set to "Medium."  I think I should probably just stick with this file and not add anything else lol.

I switched from the 15 mag 30M file to the 14 mag 15M file.  Now it loads in 2-3 min instead of 6-8 min and I dont get the weird flickering from time to time that I used to and it's much more responsive.
