werdnaforever's Orbital Shipyard

Over the past several years I've made a bunch of ships in the editor and posted them in the original forum. Now that it's gone, I've made this new thread so that all my ships can be found in one place, and so I can add any newer ships I make.

Included are links to SSS and JSON files. These ships should work in SpaceEngine version 0.9.8.0

  • To install, place an SSS file inside /addons/models/spacecraftThis is relative to the root of your SpaceEngine directory; create it if it's not there.
  • The JSON files can be opened in the ship editor.
  • if you just want to fly a ship I recommend you just download the SSS file.
  • If you want to edit the JSON files, you will have to re-edit the SSS file; see here at the "Exporting Ships to SpaceEngine" section
  • Please attribute me (werdnaforever) if you make derivative ships from any of these.

Please let me know if you see a broken or incorrect link. :/

Most impressive.  Hopefully you'll get around to adding some of your 3D models you've made in the past.

I'm probably going to have to remodel the football; the polycount is just too high. It's not that complicated of a design though so it's not a huge issue. As for the other one (the weird joined-ring design from that concept art) it may just be a matter of optimization, but there might be a few high-poly areas that I can simplify once I have a bit more time for a closer look.

werdnaforever, these ships are quite awesome and unique. I look forward to flying some around the universe and can only hope we really build ships like these sometime in the future. I am curious however if you consult any any basic scientific blueprint for some of them, or are they just free-style imagination.

In the editor, I try to place the modules as realistically as possible and use them for their intended purposes, although there are exceptions.

edit: also doc dont take credit from me boiiii; them ships be my hard work blood sweat n tears n stuff so stfu -_^
edit2: actually to be fair there are a couple of small things i did in a couple of the ships that you did in your ships; mainly some of the stuff i did for the ramjet ships
