kham132, you're back! I can't wait to see more of your fantastic exoplanet recreations, especially in 0.990!

Congratulations and welcome back, kham132!

I've been lurking around these forums unregistered for quite some time and I must say I'm glad to see one of my favorite threads come back.
I'm just a lurker - I spend most of my time with Celestia instead of SE.
Also, did you know cashews grow on top of apples?

When I install this, the planets don't appear, and are way too cold

Hi I just downloaded this figuring out that I should have the accurate rendition, but instead they're completely different and are way to cold. Can someone help me with this problem and go through it step by step. Thank you so much

I'm still working on the 2020 update, so you guys may have downloaded and earlier version for 0.980. Sorry for any confusion. I'm almost done with the new update, so be prepared!

The 2020 Update!
After years of waiting, the Artist Rendition-Accurate Exoplanets addon is ready for 0.990 (if ignoring any errors)!
Along with updating every exoplanet to be suitable for 0.990, every major exoplanet discovery from 2018 has also been added, so let's just get along with them.

As always, if there are any issues or requests you'd like to address please say them! I'll try to keep this up to date, but we'll see how that goes now that I'm in college.

Download the .pak file and put it in addons/catalogs.

Wow great work!  are all these real planets?  also, are they incorporated into .990 automatically via update or must they be manually placed?  would that conflict with the planets that are already there?

These planets are already in the game. This addon just replaces them and makes them look like the artist's rendition, and you'll need to download the .pak file to replace them.

Thanks!  Are these more accurate/realistic than the default planets already in the game?

We don't really know what these planets look like in real life. With the VERY limited information we have with these planets, this addon is just as good of a guess as the default planets. This addon just makes them look like what NASA thinks they look like.

I love all the new additions!

The addon doesn't seem to work for me, I'm assuming it's because the game's latest update is now 0.990.41

Other than that, I've remembered about the "Hoth" planet OGLE-2005-BLG-390L b and the great old screenshots I remember
Which one is the best?

Did you put the '.pak' file in the 'addons\catalogs' folder? Not just in the 'addons' folder, as is usually the case with addons.

Wait, what?  The add on needs to be in the addons/catalogs/planets subfolder to work?  But there are only .sc files in there!  I just put it with all my other .pak files in my addons folder.....that should work right?  How can I tell?
