Yes.
(The .pak file only works in SE 0.980. SE 0.971 does not understand any .pak files.)

Ah I hope 0.990 understands them because once it is released I intend to copy my addon folder onto there!

With such simple scripts there should be no problems. Although the planet probably looks a little different.

Ok, I’m trying to create an Earth like planet with ten times earth’s GRAVITY. I know size and mass can determine the gravity, but ever time I set the mass to 10 and radius to 1 earth, it keeps appearing in game with just over two earth masses. What am I doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. It's not working. SpaceEngine has apparently its maximum limits, what it considers possible on a Terra planet. It simply ignores the mass information, or rather adapts it to what it considers possible.

Can you set seperate deatail textures for the same ship model via color masks?

Like say I had this ship, some surfaces are metal, some are marble. Say I have a texture with several colors, green for metal, red for marble. Can I get SE to use this color map to assign seperate detail textures to the different surfaces absed on the colors?

No, as far as I know you have to apply to your ship model different materials to different surfaces, then you'll be able to tweak the imported material library and assign different textures and detail textures for each material.

Even with the future introduction of PBR you'll have to separate surfaces to be able to have different detail textures, at least in the current state of development. That could change, though.

Thanks for replying. I have fortunately found a workaround.

A nother question, are any of the following possible or planned:

Reflective surfaces on ships, ie: marble or glass.

Animated Textures: blinking lights, for example.

Moving parts on ships, like spinning stuff.

You can sorta fake it a bit with clever texture work and proper config parameters

So I'm having some trouble.

I am trying to create a ship according to this guide: http://spaceengine.org/manual/making-ad ... ng-a-ship/

I have put the OBJ and MTL files in the proper folders and created the .sss. But when I try to build it I can't find it, just something that says "unknown" which dosen't seem to build anything.

Here is my .sss:

Pack “40K”
Faction “Imperial Navy”
Length 1500.000
Offset (0 0 0)
Quat (1 0 0 0)
Mass 2000000
Albedo 0.1
Exposure 3

I'm no expert with making models, but I think every .sss file I've seen has paths for its modules .cfg files starting with the same folder the "pack" is in. So in your case I would try:
Module “Cobra Destroyer” { “CobraDestroyer/CobraDestroyer.cfg” (-1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 -1 0 5 15 0 1)}   (Wait... that doesn't seem right...)

But also I don't see anybody using a "Pack" name/folder immediately after "addons".  So if that doesn't work, I think I would try and reorganize the folder structure:

C:\SpaceEngine\addons\models\spacecraft\40k\ImperialNavy\CobraDestroyer

and

C:\SpaceEngine\addons\textures\spacecraft\40k\ImperialNavy\CobraDestroyer

And then use

Module “Cobra Destroyer” { “40k/CobraDestroyer/CobraDestroyer.cfg” (-1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 -1 0 5 15 0 1)}

I constantly use such folders! (However, I do not ship models.)
