Help with creating Mods and Addons

Hello I have problems with some comets I'm wishing to add to my Star System. As while the comets are appearing when being click on, their comet tails disappear as soon as an other planet or nearby object is selected. I have used JackDole's asteroid generator to generate these comets. If needed I will provide the .sc files.

I'll need to see that .SC file. If I can't get any data from them you can try two other things, you can send me your .SC file for your star system, or you can explain everything that's going on and send me a pic. (Just in case) If you don't how to add .SC files or pics then just click on the "add files" button below and select what you need!
I'm good when it comes to Physics, Algebra, Relativity, Space, and SpaceEngine. But I could still use a LOT of help on the things I still don't know. So I hope I get a lot of help on how all that works, here!

I seemed to have fixed the problem, it appears that the comets were to far away/to close to another star in the system. This caused them to glitch out. Sorry for taking your time. I only noticed when I added comets closer in. Sorry again.

It's okay, it doesn't bother me at all! (PS) nice job figuring it out! :D

rodrigoasfr24022003, parent is a star barycenter, so the tag should be StarBarycenter {}.
Star scripts don't need the Orbit {} tag, it's ignored by SE.
Taking into account the sum of both semimajor axes, I think the most massive star should have its orbit well within the other one, like in screen2.

and the script with the 'StarBarycenter' belongs in the folder 'addons\catalogs\stars' !

If I want to change the way star systems generate so each star has an average of about 5 planets and can have as few as 2, how would I do this?

Are you saying how to edit every procedural star so they have the number of planets that you listed? Sorry but I think that's impossible. :(

You could play with values of the Planetary System generator and see what you get. Open your main-user.cfg (make a copy first, in case you want to return to original values), you'll find it in your SpaceEngine \config folder, then search for this section:

You can tweak those values (they're probabilities, so values range from 0 to 1).
Be advised, though, that your SpaceEngine will cease to have the exact same planets than everybody else, so you'll not be able to share your findings with others.

Increase 'mareFreq' and 'mareDensity' at the same time. (You have to try something around.)

I figured Id try my own hand at giving procedural terras proper seafloors, so I copied my canyons code and gave a fake hyper magnitude to assist with troubleshooting.

Problem is, I have exhausted all ideas on how to stop the sea canyons from showing up on the continents and I'm pulling my hair out here. How do I get it to work properly? :cry:
