How does SE know when to use the grass and snow textures on a planet with bitmapped textures? Does it depend on the color of the underlying bitmap, or the latitude, or does SE have biome maps now?

color of the underlying bitmap
Yes. This, the slope of the terrain, and the planet's classification.

In your last stream, you tried to use the map view to look for supernova remnants but couldn't find any. Since SE makes supernova remnants so dim, a better approach would be to turn off stars, clusters and galaxies, and turn up the magnitude limit for nebulae to the maximum of 20.

Re: HarbingerDawn's 0.990 Streams

Hi everyone! As some of you already know, I've been doing weekly streams of the latest beta version of SE on my Youtube channel. I decided to make a thread about them so that 1) people can better give feedback about them and make suggestions for what they'd like to see, and 2) to make it easier to share updates about the streams.

Streams are usually on Fridays at 19:00 UTC, but the time can vary on some weeks.

Here are all of the streams to date:

Stream #1
Stream #2
Stream #3
Stream #4
Stream #5
Stream #6 (pt. 1)
Stream #6 (pt. 2)
Stream #7
Stream #8
Stream #9
Stream #10
Stream #11
Stream #12
Stream #13
Stream #14
Stream #15

Pre-release Stream #1
Pre-release Stream #2
Are these streams still a thing? Because I checked your YouTube channel and saw that the last video is from 9 months ago.
