Using the same website as Watsisname:
I used a photo I took of the rocket garden at KSC and combined it with some spacey pictures and got this

Beautiful lighting.  :)  Today my color has been green.  Green chrysoprase that is, collected from a nearby creek.  Today I worked on some pieces with a diamond cutting wheel.

One last rockhounding trip to finish the year.  Southwest Washington has some of the biggest and best carnelian I've ever seen.

Wow, you made me discover a beautiful mineral.
Orange is my favorite color, I definitely wanna pick one of those.

I've recently bought a wonderful piece of rock crystal, but I wish to find some by my own.

Did you guys tried my game yet? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mygoodyunsafeboar.metris
I'm playing it with my work colleagues during coffe breaks, it looks like they're having fun :) Probably it gets boring after a while like almost every mobile game, but it's free, so if you want you can give it a try and tell me your opinion.

P.S: Sorry for the "spam"!

Fascinating how those trees manage to survive there.  I'm assuming a short but warm growth season?

What these trees go through is amazing. Especially higher up and on ridges, where they get wind-blasted and encased in snow.

Winter at these elevations lasts from about October through April, with the snowpack often over 6 meters deep. It's weird walking along and coming across a small branch of fir poking up, and realizing it's just the tip of the iceberg and there's a whole tree beneath you. They're incredibly resilient to the harsh winter, and it's a short summer growing season, indeed. The snow melts out the most from July through August, so it's only a few months to work with. On the upside, the days are long and generally clear and warm, so they can make the most of them.

It's impressive that they can withstand the weight.  Snowy winters can be a serious problem for pines in Norway.  Under a load of snow they will lean and get even more vulnerable to snow and eventually the top will snap and the tree might struggle to recover.  Below is an image that I took a few years ago in early spring after a particularly snowy winter.  Nearly every tree in this area had had its top broken off that winter.  The snow depth was about 3 meters.

A random photo taken exactly 5 years ago while getting ready for the total eclipse.  I've seen three total eclipses in my life, and this was the best by far.
