hello everyone - i'm new to space engine. What a surprise when i unpacked it and the beautiful music started playing - had the usual 20 windows open and i didn't suspect it :) found spaceengine while googling around to give help to someone on a facebook scifi writers group who wanted map making. I myself am making an audio drama - its season 3 about to wrap - there's room for input on the last two scripts and some filler voice acting if anyone is into that.

We get a lot of help from the professional music scene. There's so much music left over that I have found with a spacey theme I think you guys might enjoy ( in fact made two versions of episode 13 because I couldn't choose :) yay for digital streaming. Some is by special permission but a lot of it is creative commons 3 for non-profit, some is cc0 or ccby4 which you can also use for profit. If you add it to youtube videos they will monetize the track though. You will find the links to the music in full amongst the show notes at our website doctoraudioadventures.com and some of it including those I haven't used, amongst my playlists at soundcloud

here's the season 3 opening theme

one of the tracks we use as our Doctor 2 heroines theme "Beyond the Horizon" by Dominik A Heker aka Alex Doan

and Summer Rain by Jens Kiilstofte track which my friend described as suitable for a Samurai's deathbed - it was in the alt version of an episode https://machinimasound.com/?s=summer+rain

Whilst looking for new music on YouTube, I came across this artist called Scandroid. His music I found very pleasing - very retro-wavy and sci-fi. Curious to hear more, I did some research and found that "Scandroid" was actually just one of the music projects that a musician named "Klayton" maintained. His other projects included "Circle of Dust" (sort of industrial dystopian metal), FreqGen (experimental electronic) and lastly "Cellweller", which is electronic but fairly multi-genre (some of which are actually really emotional). FiXT is a production company he runs together with other musicians that has more commercial music.

Klayton also has various how-to videos for synthesizers - so if you need tips for how to use them, you can find them there.

You can find all of his songs on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/user/celldweller?pbjreload=10

Needless to say, I have a few choice favorites. Here is one from each name:

Scandroid (too many favorites, are the two albums)

FreqGen

Celldweller (I highly recommend the "End of an Empire" album)

A lot of stuff to explore.

Holy Sagan have I found a good one!

UK artist Alistair Rennie (musician name Ruptured Worlds) released a new album on the dark ambient website Cryo Chamber  called "Exoplanetary", which I find is the very definition of ambient. It plays a little like a podcast, and is about the exploration of a Earth-like world orbiting Proxima Centauri.

Here is the first track for those who are curious:

Ah, Aphex Twin.  I can't decide if I like this track or not, but the video is sure trippy.

Added:  Actually, the more I watch it, the more impressive it gets.  Especially the final third.  I can't even begin to imagine the work involved in creating this.

"Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space." - Douglas Adams

My eyes are bleeding. God only knows what subliminal messages are hiding in there !

All I can say is that they used some Google Earth footage.

I think Boku no Hero Academia now gets my vote for best anime series soundtrack.  And it's utilized so perfectly, too.
