Thanks, the "anniversary" (though I don't call it that) actually comes up in May.
I try to do a new computer build every 3-5 years. It's about how long a power supply lasts for me before it blows a circuit.
PS It's even more expensive when it comes to my other 2 hobbies- astronomy and photography. It's one thing when it's computers, you can get relatively close to state of the art without breaking your budget, but imagine when it comes to telescopes and cameras lol. Telescopes actually retain their quality for a long period of time (there is no real breakthrough when the laws of physics limit what you can do with aperture and portability, but you pay for it with the amount you spend for a stable mount), but with cameras the sensors greatly improve every 5 years or so, so I get new camera gear about as frequently as building a new computer.
