Astrophotography

08 Jun 2017 06:08

Was that just using the auto contrast, auto levels and auto color buttons?
I just touched the constrast and brightness slider until it looked fine :)
But something quite as fast as the autocontrast button in reality.

I'm going to try myself perhaps this night now that I have a new mobile phone :D
Let's see what I get

Holy cow! I can't believe it had that much hidden info
Not only that. I can clearly see the Tycho crater (at the left of the spec that was in your lens) and can also see the ejecta streak created by ir crossing mare serenitatis. I think I even see the Langrenus crater in your image!
So not so crude in the end :D

I tried again tonight. Set up was easier, but I was not as satisfied with the results. I did play with brightness and contrast only.

Here's my best attempt at capturing Jupiter through my telescope by holding up my phone camera to the lens:

I think you have just managed to prove Earth is not the center of the solar system!

So, I finally had the opportunity to go away from Madrid's light pollution into Alicante, and managed to get this pictures. I processed all three with PixInsight, and I can't believe how different they are from those with all that city light. I hope you like them too:

Nah! The first thing I did after seeing the result was checking the professional ones and the difference is quite noticeable. But I still can't believe that I managed to pull those up!
Great images!

Thank you! It's good to know that I'm not the only one impressed!

Really? I like M8 a little bit more, even if after the processing it ended up a little overexposed.

I'll keep posting my results each time I get something new and interesting enough.
