1988 Also for your viewing pleasure some new planets I discovered: http://forum.spaceengine.org/download/file.php?id=1244&mode=view Name: Zalit Code: RS 0-0-0-733-21650-7-627727-1583 5 I believe you have found the ocean that resembles the Antarctic continent. Beautiful find and the others plane...

Problem making a planet with custom textures

1701 I will look more into it. I will post further if it stil doesn't work. The texture files for each texture type consist of 6 images. Like 6 diffuse images, 6 specular, 6 bumpmap textures. I exported the generated planet to high ress bump map from SE to turn it into a static texture based planet...

Problem making a planet with custom textures

I have this problem also but here my solution : Export the bump map (base and xeg_x) in Space Engine and make a base.png for you city lights but don't convert to raw and create neg_x,... because the texture don't work properly and in the code of the planet Surface { BumpMap "Planet/Bump" /...

Forms for celestial bodies

Nobody else to create another shape other than sphere and cube in Space Engine for planets, moons, ... even if it's unrealistic but can serve for "asteroids" that are placed on planets to represent monuments for example. Otherwise, here my Formyas system who collects all possible forms tha...

Science and Astronomy Questions

If I understand : L= 3.85 \times 10^{26} W d =1.5 \times 10^{11} m l = \frac{L}{4 \pi d^2} = \frac{3.85 \times 10^{26}}{4 \pi \times (1.5 \times 10^{11})} \approx 1361.66 W/m[sup]2[/sup] is the flux of luminosity that the Earth receives. If I make with the Sun : L = 3.85 \times 10^{26} W d = 6958420...

1535 1534 Source of the post the planet being far enough away from Gargantua not to have too much tidal force, Distance in the addon is good enough. Yes but she compares the distance between Gargantua-Mann and Gargantua-Edmund after, maybe Mann is very eccentric and was closer to Gargantua than Edm...

1532 I am only going off of The Science of Interstellar and the movie so I won't be adding those.  There are mentions of the Neutron star which I have Edmund's planet orbiting. This is how I have it configured I know, I read it but in the movie, Dr. Brand said Edmund was the planet they had to choos...

Science and Astronomy Questions

Is there a relationship between brightness and distance ? For the gravitation, it is : G = 6.67*10^{-11} g = \frac{G \times m}{d^2} g in m/s[sup]2[/sup], G the constant of the gravitation in N⋅m[sup] 2 [/sup]⋅kg[sup] -2 [/sup], m the mass of the object in kilogrammes (kg) and d the distance between ...

DoctorOfSpace , at first, I thought it was a 1498 FOV effect but with the 1530 post above, I notice that Edmund revolves around Gargantua and especially close (less than 1 AU which is about 8 minutes). For me, it seems to me incorrect after the end of the film... ... talk about "the new sun&qu...

SpaceEngine F.A.Q.

1366 Just a reminder for these calculations: in SE 0980, Equatorial grid displays shifted values of RA and Dec. I know but isn't precise. 1362 Why you need this? You can't position stars in SE with accuracy of 3 mm anyway. Even if we can not set for 3 mm at the moment, for a future version, I would...

SpaceEngine F.A.Q.

SpaceEngineer: 1357 RA and Dec must be in radians, Dist in parsecs. xyz coordinates in SE are in Equatorial system (you may toggle the equatorial coordinate grid to see that). Sorry but I don't know for find xyz with the equatorial coordinate grid : scr00000.jpg And if I use the AbsPosition (in sav...
