Mods and Addons - Requests, suggestions and ideas

Of course it is in the Todo list: > Internal structure of ships and buildings (indoor-engine) The last part seems to imply the development of a specific engine module. There are in fact some commands in the manual explicitly referring to internal maps. Like you said, with the tools that SE gives us...

Science and Astronomy Questions

I don't know how much it would effect the outcome but M class stars are entirely convective so they will eventually fuse practically all their Hydrogen and continue as a Helium burning convective star. But one thing is the rate they fuse at is so much slower than the core fusion stars, in order of ...

The "That Totally Looks Like _____" Thread

Makes sense. The ice-moon and asteroid surface maps were updated, though I installed Rodrigos Terrain and Clouds  mod for that icy Enceladus look in 0.990. I look forward to the new terrain updates for 0.990.

Mods and Addons - Requests, suggestions and ideas

Be that as it may, that still does not answer my question: are there any mods attempting to model ship interiors? It would seem that if a certain amount of resources are diverted from the main visual objectives of SE (that is, complete realistic depictions of planets, stars etc and all their propert...

Mods and Addons - Requests, suggestions and ideas

Are there any mods that have attempted to model the INTERIOR of the SE ships? I don't just mean a cock pit or control room, but also a fairly good layout of the rest o the ship (the crewquarters, engineering corridors, artificial habitats, scientific labs, all that stuff). If none have been made - w...

What other games do you play?

I'm on the same boat. In my better years I would play almost every weekend. Alas, no more... Responsibilities crushed my free time

What other games do you play?

I have a question: who of the SE forum play pen and paper roleplaying games (RPGs)? I figure if you throw enough space nerds together in a forum at least someone got to do it.

Just curious Image.

Very cool! As someone who has an intense interest in chemistry myself, videos like this are endlessly fascinating.

Hmm.. just found this: a new geometric shape called a 'Scutoid' was discovered. Well, its not really recent, since it exists in nature, especially in multicellular  lifeforms.

Geometrically an eclipse could not work on a flat earth with a 'holographic' moon and sun only a few hundred miles above the disk, but ughhhhhh.... don't even get me started. I brought it up because I recently had run-in with one... of... THEM .... It was a mentally brutalizing encounter and I only ...

Here's something interesting, that helps layfolk understand better: https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2018/08/heres-what-earths-shadow-actually-looks-like/ Basically a guy used a camera trick to teach himself the width of Earth's shadow :) Not the best source admittedly, but ja :) I think the flat-earther...

Epicycles are also "right" if you keep adding enough of them

I came across this nice illustration how any orbit can be described by epicycles:
