Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

21025 I also saw some videos that involved animations, such as exploding nebulae, Supernovae (Exploding nebulae) are not in 0.9.8.0. 21025 I did see some 0.9.9.0 trailers, and I know that those updates haven't came yet. I was trying to refer to the present update. Okay. 21025 I have explored severa...

Ringworlds?

Your scenario would result in a planet (or a few).  Any part of the disk that is denser than the surroundings -- even slightly -- will pull more material into it from all sides.  Or even by random chance, some asteroids will clump into a more massive one than average, resulting in a similar instabi...

Ringworlds?

They are not possible in nature (maybe artificially, but that raises other questions).  We never observe them in planet-forming simulations, even if the mass of the nebula was very high.   The reason is that gravity acts to pull things into spheres.  Gravity cannot act to compress things into a sol...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

I am new to SpaceEngine. It is just absolutely amazing, and I love every aspect of it. It's just that I am running through several problems.. when I look at several other videos made with this Engine, I see fantastic sightings, large canyons and mountains, rivers, craters, hurricanes, tremendous vi...

General questions about SpaceEngine

What are the differences between immediate, asynchronous, and intervalled loading modes   What? I don't think those are even IN spaceengine, but I think the immediate loading mode means that it will load ASAP, the asynchronous loading mode means that the loading speed will vary from fast to slow, a...

Ringworlds?

Have you guys ever fought about how ringworlds can be possible? because I have, and here is my theory. Ringworlds are totally possible because, for one, stars and planets are made by solar nebulae right? So, if the solar nebula was a dark nebula, (a nebula that is so dense that light can't get throu...

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

If anyone hasn't already asked. Can you add hypervelocity stars to spaceengine like how you made hyperbolic comets?

Unusual weather

It's pouring and it's sunny out! there is only one tiny cloud above my lab and it's producing a awful lot of rain. There are more clouds coming my way, but they're not here yet, so it's just this one little cloud! :o

Solar System dynamics discussion thread

21000 Yeah, but that means its orbit is now hyperbolic, so it won't be coming back. I figured. But you can see it now with a high magnification telescope with the clearest optics. (PS) Nice going with the "mercury's perihelion" document, it gave me a lot of great understandings on why mer...

20957 Don't worry Watsisname you made such a great work with all your explanation. No need to see the actual orbit. I was just curious about it. Well I wanted to find out what it would do as well, plus I'd like to be able to handle more general scenarios.  C/2011 W3 Lovejoy is about as extreme as i...

Qr Bbpost How do you do for have lights in stations?

in SpaceEngine you can use light textures. In this case I used different materials with the same completely white light texture, then in sml file you can choose different light colors for different materials.

I didn't say that reicou did, sorry.

BambusDude's Nebulae 4.5!

20970 Um BambusDude, do I get rid of the entire cache folder or just the nebulae folder? does this keep nebulae that weren't edited? you only have to delete the cache folder or more specific delete the nebulae folder within /cache/models. dont delete anything else. (except an older version of my ad...

Are you asking how to add lights to spacecrafts? I can't really tell, but if you are then you only can when you make the spacecraft in your own 3d editor as a material, not in spaceengine.

20972 Thanks dude ) Oh it was nothing. 20972 20959 How do you add that docking ports? I want too In the ship editor (Shift F2) you can add a docking port by clicking on the "edit docking port" button and then choose where you want it to be (I'm pretty sure it has to be a single module tho...
