I don't know how you could live though winters at those latitudes.

I find it hard enough with only 9 about hours of day light at the peak of winter.

Perhaps maybe the way rotation period is defined for a gas giant? I don't even know how they define the gas giants rotation in our own solar system as what part are they talking about considering it's fluid and no part of it rotates at the same rate. I would be interested if someone can explain how ...

These last three are spectacular,  Aborygen . I also like the landscape in your eclipse shot,  vlad01 , it looks very realistic and Earthlike. Cheers. Well for me at least it's not that realistic looking, not compared to the browns and yellows of the Australian scenery that I am used to. It actuall...

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

I do as well as my 4GB 980 seems to run out in many applications including SE. It's a pitty that NVidia decided to equip the standard 980s with "only" 4GBs of VRAM. Only 1GB more than the previous generation i.e 33% increase. So they learned from their mistakes and fitted 100% more VRAM o...

A very PC discussion

Anyone tested vega vs something like a 1080 or Ti on SE?

Just curious if the performance is compatible to get an idea of options on the current and near future releases of cards.

I have just been lurking and reading here. Pretty much the same on the contribution. Although I understand and know a lot about the physics I am not good at applying the maths related to it. Good to see the PBS spacetime video linked here.  I have watched all of their videos to date, they go very de...

Very odd system. At first I thought I was seeing a completely flat star but saw it was just a mega bright accretion disk. So the system is a triple system of a white dwarf with disk and 2 brown dwarfs that also have auroras, one brown dwarf has one side tidally locked and roasted by the white dwarf....

system or Vram?

That seemed to do the trick but reducing the brightness.

Version 0.9.8.0e plain version with no mods. I seem to have a consistent crash only when exploring the center of the galaxy NGC 4889 for large black holes, have had no issues at all exploring any other galaxies since I have had SE for the last month or so. First I noticed the star search appears to ...

Perhaps the vendors could provide sdk for their upcoming products?  AMD are supposedly bringing about some new consumer cards later in the year based on 7nm process, possibly early next year if it gets delayed. They have already been sampling for a while.  nvidia, as always, no news. But it would be...

I 100% agree on that. The way SE is now it why I love it so much, its purely discovery and simulating and not clouded by other stuff. Only thing I hope that becomes of it is more detail and more ways to extract and present data/facts from the objects in SE. Kind of like reading a junior encyclopedia...
