A very PC discussion

I heard the latest optional updates were broken. I would roll back any updates you have done recently.

SpaceEngine clogged my hard drive (C:)

I would also check for windows error logs. I once had a laptop of a work mate's with win 10 that was generating multi GB error log files and it completely filled the C drive in a few days.  Never worked out what caused them but deleting them at least made the laptop run normal again.

scr00090.jpg Looks like your current system is working just fine. :) Only just barely, I have to close all background tasks and non essential services down to avoid locking up the PC, which happens 100% of the time if I don't, even then the max I get is 30fps with stutter if the terrain does finish...

I think quite a lot of activity was from those sneak peaks of 0.990 that brought a lot of people to the forum in general including here, now that it's been out for a while people are content.  There was hype, the produce has been delivered, it is great and now there isn't a real need to come here f...

Astrophotography

This is mine via deepsky stacker.

The image is a little sharper after collimation but still would like a sharper image but i think its a limitation of the mirror and maybe the CCD itself to some degree.

Bit of an update. Turns out that line in Orion neb was due to collimation issues so my mate got a laser collimator and I corrected the optics to be spot on, it was a bit out. I was hoping it would also fix the sharpness of the image which it did a little bit but not as much as I hoped for. Any ideas...

32625 I still can't work out what that line is in the top of the image, it's in all the light frames but not in the darks so I am guessing it's some reflection in the scope itself? Good question.  My first thought would have been some kind of inconsistent sensor/read noise, but if it's not in the d...

1st night of some proper imaging. Stuffed the setup when my friend knocked out the power plug on the setup trying to plug in the laptop charger so we lost a lot of time and only managed to get some 15 or so exposures and some ended up corrupting so only stacked 11 of them and 10 dark, 10 bias but th...
