What would snowflakes of other ices look like?

Since the upcoming version of Space Engine will feature lakes and seas of liquids other than water, it brings to mind the sorts of precipitation these planets and moons would have. One question it raises for me is what snowflakes of carbon dioxide, methane, or some other volatile look like? Snowflak...

New planet classification

One thought I had for the bounds of the temperature categories with 647 K (the critical temperature for water) as the lower bound for hot planets and 1300 K as the lower bound for torrid, as it is a reasonable value for the solidus of basaltic rock.

Is this a bug? *Six* incandescent (> 700°C) moons in a planemo system!

I think it's a work in progress, which SE is in general. Back when I started with 0.972 some dwarf moons were hot enough to glow like stars.

One of the planets in a system I made has procedural rings that I would like to keep. I know I can export surface and cloud textures, but is there any way of exporting procedural rings? Use the in-game planet editor when you select the planet (shift-F2) and click the "export script" butto...

This red dwarf's mass seems quite low: lower than that of its companion, a T-class brown dwarf.

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

One thing I though might be interesting is star-planet barycenters for cases of gas giants orbiting low-mass stars. Considering that gas giants basically form a continuum with brown dwarfs. Perhaps there could even be binary systems of a brown dwarf and gas giant/sub-brown dwarf. It's possible to bu...

Could we get a better Star Browser please?

I would be interested to see that too.  It would also be good to be able to browse stars without planets, including solitary black holes, neutron stars, and white dwarfs.

Yes, that is the video. There was no retrograde motion involved; just happened to get an eclipse at the right moment that the relative motion of the moons changed. The moon casting the shadow is closer to the planet. What's really great that I didn't catch in the video is that this was just after th...

Apologies for the double post: I accidentally hit submit before posting the second link, and it won't let me edit.

So far I've found terra moons to be quite rare. Ones with life even moreso. This is the first time I've found one orbiting an ice giant.

I've also never seen an eclipse do this:

Edited since I can now actually add links.

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0

Will there be any guidelines for "translating" planets from custom planets created in previous versions to fit the appropriate classes in the new version? Like cutoffs between lacustrine, marine, and oceanic worlds or  subterra, terra, and superterra.

Troubleshooting and bug reports - SpaceEngine 0.9.8.0

It seems the sun visibility bug is fixed in the next version anyway.
