is this a bug? How can i solve this problem?

When it says "1.00 km / 8.66 km", 1.00 km is your altitude above the surface, and 8.66 km is your altitude above sea level.

Science and Astronomy Questions

By the way, Whatsisname's diagram explicitly answers your question, look which axis the jets follow. I wanted to make sure that the areas of radio emission always coincide with the jets, but thanks for the explanation. I can understand why Vladimir hasn't been able to implement astrophysical jets i...

Star Wars addons

Should we make separate versions of the Star Wars galaxy addon for 0.980 and 0.990, or should we try to make one addon compatible with both versions? The first thing that needs to be done to ensure 0.990 compatibility is to remake the cubemap textures for Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa so that they use 2...

The orientation of the galaxies in Arp 148 is slightly off: they should form more of a T-shape instead of an L-shape. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/XKcBxcllTeitS-WlUpaBYZ1PeS9_OIshW7OzYjp5DKqpE4wIPCeR2BiYVgSdW9k0qrylQSV6dV3nJcVzgLC5mQyjyxOUhzuYM_q0no7wyz0_VhyRHu3Ll-QpS97SWqTbQT8zZsrkobY6TtyER9pf...

Hello, noticed minor bug.  WISE 0458-6434 is appearing as a very bright star from over 50 LY away.

Until this can be fixed in the official catalog files, a mod to correct the magnitude can be found here.

Planets with potentially breathable atmospheres

What are the most Earthlike worlds you've found in 0.990? RS 8496-946-7-1778819-783 A4 is the best looking one in the Milky Way I've seen so far, although as usual there's too much sulfur dioxide, and greater than 0.5 atm pp oxygen is borderline unsafe: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ARrBj2FVKcr...

Not sure how I turned these boxes and lines on. They only go off if I turn off Galaxies, Stars, etc..

Any ideas how to turn them off?

I think those are octree boxes? Perhaps you pressed Y or U by accident, so try pressing them again.

Having some troubles with nebulas. For some reason they look very grainy. I'm running the game on high and I haven't noticed this with other people's screenshots. Switch the graphics settings to Custom. At the bottom of the settings window, try increasing the sliders for volumetric objects resoluti...

Does it seem like 0.990 has made it much harder to find truly Earthlike planets (temperate marine terras with multicellular marine and terrestrial life in non-tidally-locked orbits around G-type stars)?

I know how aquarias are defined, but because liquid on Titan is limited to lakes in the polar regions, I would have expected it to be a lacustrine aquaria instead of a marine aquaria. There doesn't seem to be much point to the  lacustrine classification when most of them look indistinguishable from ...

I'm surprised that 0.990 classifies Titan as a marine aquaria rather than lacustrine. What's the cutoff between them? Most of the worlds I've seen that are classified as lacustrine don't seem to have any bodies of liquid visible from space.
