11853 Airless is different from the -baric pattern, but I don't think there is any synonym of airless that is suitable for a celestial body devoid of an atmosphere. There may not be, but it's easily created, since there is a prefix that indicates non-existence: a-. So it'd be abaric. On the minus s...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

11089 Weird. My old card was an ATI Radeon HD 4650 that is just slightly better but I had 30-40 fps in space, maybe it's the "new" star rendering that is very heavy. My card used to have way higher fps values in space than it has now. Usually it was in the upper 20s and, occasionally, it ...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

11074 I doubt that anyone consulting the list is doing so because they want to get a card which cards run SE at 2 fps, hence the 610 not making the list. Well, they might if they could get the card cheap and can't afford any more than that (or if there's some issue with older hardware archietctures...

Can my PC run Space Engine?

Well, FWIW, I have a GeForce GT 610 and the program runs. Slowly, sometimes going down as low as 2 FPS, but it displays everything. I can even fly ships.

Rodrigos Terrain & Clouds Mod

I tried these shaders and I just thought I'd drop a small note. I'd absolutely love them if they were an addition to what SE currently gives us instead of a replacement. I'd love to have Rodrigo's landforms added to SpaceEngineer's for one very good reason: terrain generation needs a whole lot more ...

JCandeias' ships

So I recently had a few insomniac nights (bloody heat!) and that meant I finally got into ships, learning to fly them (well... a bit) and build them with ePayload's editor. I made a few designs, without giving much thought to functionality (I was way too tired to plan anything, so I just added eleme...

Help with creating Mods and Addons

10697 Does someone know what is the problem when a ship seems to have fully functional textures despite being rendered as fully dark unless the ambient lighting is raised? Probably because you've created it in interstellar space. Out there they don't have a light source to illuminate them, and ther...

I'm not suggesting to change the terminology regarding cryovolcanism, mind you: that's a well-established term and shouldn't be changed.

10635 Word order could be changed by a localization config parameters, as I said in answer #12. Comma also could be considered by a parameter, or simply by adding it to a word translation: "cold" -> "fria," To simply add a comma to the word translation doesn't work. Picking up y...

Europa is kind of an extreme case, in the sense that its ocean is very close to the surface. Hence all the techtonic features at the surface, not much marred by impact craters (i.e., geologically young). Ice worlds in general have deeper oceans (i.e. thicker crusts), and as a consequence their surfa...

New planet classification

Well... I personally prefer shorter categorizations, but that's kinda besides the point. I do have issues of a more technical nature, though. In Portuguese and in most (all?) Latin languages, the order of words is inverse to that English uses. So it's "Terra bla bla bla" instead of "B...

This looks like the least wrong place to put this, so here goes. Someone made a theoretical planetary system that maximizes the number of planets in the Habitable Zone. The result? 416 planets. Yes, really. Check it out: http://nautil.us/blog/i-built-a-stable-planetary-system-with-416-planets-in-the...
