DoctorOfSpace's Mod Emporium v0.9.8.0

Please build a model of X Yeah, as a forum, we're sorely lacking in hobbyist 3D modellers. I used to frequent the Star Trek Bridge Commander forums - that place was crawling with modellers of high calibre in its golden age. Times seem to have changed - the kids don't seem to get their kicks with 3D...

DoctorOfSpace's Mod Emporium v0.9.8.0

That's some great work, bud! I'd like to request the Daedelus class pre-TOS ship . I like its sticks-and-ball stylings. And as for permissions, IIRC, Thomas Marrone is pretty responsive on Twitter, you might get an answer there - but I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Then again, Bioware were cool a...

SpaceX

Hmm, good point. I haven't explained anything, just typed out my side of an argument with a largely imaginary foe. SpaceX is a privately-owned rocket company. Elon Musk founded SpaceX, but he's probably best known publicly for co-founding and running the electric car and renewable energy company Tes...

FutureBetelgeuse - After supernova

Are you saying Duke's shaders won't be in the 0.981 release, or just that they won't be used for supernova-related stuff?

Does anyone know how to script the ship file so that a spacecraft spawns with other ships pre-docked to it?

I'd like to use it for stuff like Enterprise-D Saucer Separation, Falcon 9/any-rocket staging, or even just setting up scenes.

You need to do the mapping in the modelling program. If not, Space Engine won't know where to place the textures you assign to it. I suggest looking up some Blender Texture Mapping tutorials. Once it's mapped with your desired textures, and you export to OBJ with an included MTL file, Space Engine w...

Did you texture map it in Blender?

Guys, is it possible yet to script a ship in such a way that it spawns with other ships already docked to it?

Like the stock explorer ship with a full ring of Skylones, for example?

Steam beta testers

I'm aware it has been reachable by console. Sorry if I was unclear: In the last month, there was a Steam beta update that re-assigned AutoExposureMode 2 to the same rendering mode as AutoExposureMode 1 - there was no difference anymore. I always liked the way 2 worked. Even though it wasn't properly...

Steam beta testers

On a whim, I entered "Set AutoExposureMode 2" into the console the other day, and to my surprise, it's working again!

Did the last Steam update add the new HDR rendering code, or is it the older AutoExposureMode 2 making a comeback? I can't be sure, but I think it looks better...

Excellent. I think it needs tweaking, but the groundwork is there for an excellent and realistic effect. I love that anything in the scene bright enough will generate a flare.

It's a little hard to get a handle on in stills, though - any chance of a gif or a video?

Your SpaceEngine Videos

I'm afraid it is more of a scatological mess of random clips from a minute to 4 or 5 of over 120 locations. The added frustrating distraction of still picture slides are thrown in every few moving clips of which most tend to be a bit fast and stomach churning. Quality deteriorates as it progresses....

Incredible work, Space Engineer and Duke!

The new HDR renderer looks gorgeous. I was a huge fan of the old "normal" exposure mode (aka AutoExposureMode 2), so I was quite alarmed when it stopped working in the latest Steam beta update - glad to know a worthy replacement is on hand!

I've got to second the praise for The Expanse. It's literally made for this crowd. If you like SE or Space Engineers or anything involving a realistic depiction of space and space travel, you are doing yourself a disservice if you're not watching The Expanse. Here's what a course-change looks like i...

Your ring stations really make me wish simple module animations would work! Just constant rotations and stuff.
