Science and Astronomy Questions

I'm giving up on this horrible quote system. "Quantum effects do not and cannot violate any laws.  The "laws of the universe" must, by definition, include all observed phenomena." But that's just semantics. How do you know that every interaction or property of the universe is goi...

How galaxies/nebulae actually look.

As for the light extending above and below the core, perhaps you're seeing the galactic bulge.

I'm *not* seeing light. I'm seeing lots of stars, but no indication from a distance that anything is there.

Why not? What's a better use for it?

Looking at the wobbles in orbits.

Ye just don't know how to have fun.

Okay, this has to happen.

Drifters are your own probes turned rogue. Note that their total number (both alive and destroyed) is the same as your losses from value drift. I got them to zero early on, but it just shoots back up. We were aware of this, but I found it comical how it ended up being an hours-long battle of attrit...

Stars are shining through intervening terrain (0.9.8.0e). Only works at the area of dawn/dusk. It seems to affect all planets. Is this a known problem?

Science and Astronomy Questions

Mouthwash , Doc and I have been talking about this a bit and we both conclude that a universe with a reversed second law would simply be equivalent to reversing time.   A key example is that of a black hole, which is the maximal entropy state for any system.  For entropy to decrease, the black hole...

A friend of mine decided to take the stubborn route and continue fighting the Drifters in the hopes of exterminating them. He narrowly lost, 0 probes to a scant 127 remaining Drifters xD Drifters are your own probes turned rogue. Note that their total number (both alive and destroyed) is the same a...

No one needs to remember the whole list. You can just check to see what are the top 3 if you want. If we're going to do that, why not make a poll and save everyone else the trouble of doing it too? This: Higher number = better song Poll: Higher number = better song But you'd have to read everyone's...
