Conspiracy Theory Thread

if your model explains only observations you decide are significant and reject others with a "deception" sticker on it, I call this "Cherry-picking" and it's not a model. But if you prefer science you should start by using some.

Online spacecraft editor

First, what a behemoth! The ship you created before was made with the latest version of this editor or an older version? It could be related to the number of modules, or the fact that modules used here are not yet in SpaceEngine (there's an error in console and in se.log: ERROR: seSpacecraft::ReadSc...

6441 if this window still had buttons showing on the bottom What did you try until now? I mean, update your graphic drivers, delete your SpaceEngine cache folder, deleting main-user.cfg from the config folder as JackDole told in a previous post could help, what else... nothing comes to mind right n...

Qr Bbpost  I do have an Intel HD 3000 graphics card; is that the only reason the planets and stars just aren't showing up?

Yes. Intel HD 3000 is not compatible with SpaceEngine, unfortunately nothing can be done.

Science and Astronomy Questions

6409 but I wonder why we have never seen the heavens from Apollo as they appear from a Nikon film camera strapped to the main telescope of a jet flying at 40,00 feet? 14 years of advancements in technology and science. And that Nikon ain't the same. I wonder who had a Celestron with a 2.4 m mirror.

Hey,
is there a way to change units in this game? It would be nice if there was a way to see the mass in kgs.

For objects like planets or moons, you can see mass in Kilograms by selecting the Info window ("I" key).

I get a "Cannot create the log file check access to SpaceEngine Folder" Your SE installation does not have write permissions in its own folders, did you install it under Program Files folder perhaps? Windows sometimes is picky about it. Create manually a SpaceEngine folder, let's say in C...

Qr Bbpost No, Huibble was not designed to do that.

Sorry, I forgot to place a comma where it counts, but Hubble obviously is a multi-purpose mission.
Could you please post a reference about Herschel's point of view you cited in your first post, I can't find any source.

Qr Bbpost That Earth image looks normal so I suspect it is the fov that was making them look off to me.

By using low FOV the object is indeed flattened. Maybe the effect stands out more with Jupiter because of its bandings

6278 The examples all use the same driver version: 381.65. But version 378.92 and version 378.66 have the same problem. Yeah. Even if it's a different card, since I'm still using 376.33, I could try and update to the last drivers, to see if something goes wrong for me too. Stay tuned. Edit: After t...
