Press F4 to open Settings > Controls > Common controls, search for "Increase ambient light" and Decrease ambient light" and see what keyboard combination is linked to those in your system, but shift+> should be correct for english keyboards.

I managed to duplicate the image. The Auto exposure mode view is not the best to see the totality. In fact to mitigate that you have to use a narrow field of view, like you said. I'm afraid the image is not big enough to see the camera position and other parameters in order to duplicate the view. The name of the image is june 21, 2020, you are mentioning the 1999 eclipse though
