I think the famous quote on the cover should have a line break before the dash. And the "Hawking luminosity" maybe means "Hawking radiation"? The "OBJECT" translate to "天体" may be better than "对象“ or ”物体“

In 0.990.37.1680 edition filter settings, I found a mistake(may be or not), "System' main star" and "Object's parent sun" two items' first option is "Red giant" but there's the spectrum behind it. I think it should be "Giant".

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

What would be really cool (but maybe hard to code) would be being able to see different biomes and ecosystems on the planet. Also, if the planet has life, it would be nice to actually see the animals (or maybe just the plants) when you land on the planet. It would also be nice to see the ground hav...

Work progress 0.990

28584 Can we have a status for the progress of 0.990 ? Working on Solar system textures. Cubemap tool was updated to support SE 0.990 texture format (256x256, with 2 pixel-wide border inside the tile). It also was made 64-bit and multithreaded, to speedup conversion process. Some textures, for whic...

The first black hole photo

Finally first actual black hole photo in reality :D

Previous black hole photos are just jets and accretion disks not actual black holes in the center

This photo successfully captured the accretion disk that was bent by gravity.

The first black hole photo

I'm very psyched about this, to say the least. This might be one of the most historic astrophotographs, right up there in the history books along with the results of Hubble's Deep Field surveys.

Yes, I think it is indeed a milestone in human astronomy.

The first black hole photo

The press conference is over, it is actually a photo of the M87 black hole, not Sagittarius A*, but still excites me.

The first black hole photo

It is said that this is a photo about Sagittarius A*. Related introduction (Transfer from http://blog.sina.cn/dpool/blog/s/blog_15a95a7b90102yi0z.html): On April 1, the European Commission, the European Research Council, and the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) announced that they will hold a joint pre...

Can My PC Run SpaceEngine?

i'm having severe problem with space engine, after installing it is showing white screen but sound is good but blank window. here is the se.log file https://pastebin.com/v30syGR4 [forbidden content] Looks like the old Intel graphics card problem (such as HD 3000), they are too old, can not afford S...

The most massive black holes in the Universe

I remember that the heaviest black hole discovered so far is not TON 618, it should be SDSS J140821.67+025733.2, its mass gundam 1.96 × 10^11 M⊙.

Sci-Fi System Generator V1.1 SE 0.98e

Someone actually has done something like this for Celestia, look:  http://web.archive.org/web/20120612133204/http://home.arcor.de/christianlenz/ssc.html An interesting generator and you are welcome to use that one if you use Celestia. But Celestia has a lot more bells and whistles you have to worry...

I am sorry to have affected the exchange order of the forum. Because my security awareness is weak, my QQ account has been stolen and my forum account has been stolen and used by others. In the forum, I have violated the rules. I apologize to SpaceEngineer here, hoping to forgive my fault.

How much video memory do you have?

I have 512 mb of vram. But I can run 980.

Coincidentally, My HD 6470M with only 512MB of VRAM, too. but at 1366×768 resolution, 0.980e running FPS is not too bad (0.980e FPS looks like 0.980 higher)

Looking forward to the introduction of stellar evolution models and galaxies evolution models, as well as the effects of galaxy collisions, supernova explosions, they look great.
