https://phys.org/news/2016-09-billion-stars-d-gaia-billion-star.html http://www.thescinewsreporter.com/2018/04/astronomers-have-created-most-detailed.html ESO created a 3D map and catalog of 1.7 billion stars in the Milky Way! Some sources say 1.1 billion, others (newer sources) say 1.3 billion of t...

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0

5967 Would SLI be a great benefit in SE, Doc? SE has partially implemented SLI supports. It works, but sometimes falling back to non-SLI mode. Unfortunately, one on my GPUs are broken, so I can't finish SLI support until I repair it. Also, this thread is going offtopic. Do you plan on having full S...

General questions about SpaceEngine

Anyone know if Samsung Odyssey VR is compatible with SE, or if it will be in 0.9.9.0?

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

I think it would be awesome if we would be able to "crack" a planet open to look at its core and such if possible.Image

Work progress 0.9.8.1 = 0.9.9.0

I have seen similar models that are less quality, probably because of how large their files can get. I am sure the 3D NASA/ESA models are still better than what is currently in SE. Also, having a rough model would make it way easier to build "by hand" if he ever plans on making volumetrics...

Are ALL nebulae planned on being changed to volumetric models, or are there just going to be a bunch of new models for procedural space? As far as I could tell from the test videos, none of the nebulae being shown were real ones, but I could be wrong. So are nebulae such as Orion, Barnard's Loop, E...

[0.9.8.0] Elliptical galaxy appearance

I would wait for Space Engineer to say something for a full answer, but from what I know, the only thing he is planning on working on in terms of galaxies is making them raymarched. I assume that would mean the galaxy dust will be much better looking. In the mean time, I would suggest this addon  th...

General 0.9.9.0 Discussion

My main question was what else he still wants to get done. Are there any more big things to get done, or is it mostly optimizing and bug fixes at this point? Or is there not a specific road map, and kind of just getting done what he thinks he can for now?

General 0.9.9.0 Discussion

Awesome! I did not think volumetric clouds would come out until much later. So is there a definite plan for what is being released in 0.9.9.0? I know there is new terrain and planet overhaul, new nebulae, new editor and main menu, some new models for asteroids, comets, and ships. What else does Vlad...

General 0.9.9.0 Discussion

Are the new nebulae going to be in 0.9.9.0? I thought I remember Space Engineer saying it may not be added to 0.9.9.0 because it needed more work or something. I am not sure what the current plans are for 0.9.9.0, and if it will mostly just be new terrain (which looks AMAZING, btw).

The terrain looks so beautiful, I cannot wait to experience it myself! So you are pretty much done with the terrain upgrades? That is what I understood from the first paragraph of the update you posted. If so, and out of my own curiosity, what else are you wanting/planning to work on before the rele...

Everything looks so amazing in these videos! I am loving the look of the new terrain and nebulae. Are you thinking of making another video soon?

General suggestions for SpaceEngine

Do you think you will ever want to add more educational tools to Space Engine? I think it would be very useful to have tools that allow more filters when exploring. For example, filtering out all randomly generated stars. I would love to be able to visualize all the stars that we know are there, and...
