22957  performance issues in games sometimes come from the limitations of the game engine, not the hardware. Every game you install on your computer does NOT use all your machine's available memory Unless they are poorly coded or badly optimized. I have seen games and programs eat up 30GBs in a few...

22953 I hate nvidia's physx, most useless thing ever, just gimped performance in most cases. They locked it down to GPU only when even Ageia back in the day said it could be offloaded to the CPU.  PhysX really could have changed a lot in terms of gameplay and presentation.  Another case of what cou...

Haven't been able to get a custom surface to work yet without it being a texture, 0.9.9.0 is weird it seems but it looks nice in 4k https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/148934978095415296/492855392062275585/SpaceEngine_2018-09-21_20-28-12.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1489349780954152...

22937 So if that is right then the gains in SE over 10 series is going to be mediocre. The 1080 Ti is pretty good at just having brute force on SE, best GPU I have used for SE and on standard SE settings has no problems at greater than 100 fps. There is a possibility of switching over to Vulkan in ...

22929 Fairly certain Bethesda are renown for their terrible coding, so I'm not surprised. I had people on the Steam community hub telling me it was a CPU bottleneck and my current CPU and 980 Ti weren't good enough while the same people claiming they had 60fps maxed out "buttery smooth" w...

I recommend turning imposters back on, you won't have any real loss in quality and will have a pretty good performance boost

Aborygen, do you use similar settings to me?

I turned off frame buffer and skybox on galaxies, but even with it enabled I have the resolution set to match my own to avoid blurring.

When I jumped from a 760 4GB SC to a 980 Ti it made rocket league run at 144fps on the monitor I had just bought. Going to 144hz in 2015 is what really made hardware feel terrible, up until then I was low end and mid range since 2007. Speaking of SE performance, I never had a great experience with i...

I switched from AMD/ATI after the 5870 because SpaceEngine seemed to benefit from having Nvidia and Nvidia offered the best hardware I could afford.

My 1080 Ti is the first GPU in maybe a decade that hasnt been a disappointment, 980 Ti came close but had some issues in 1080p.

Stellarator, other option is to wait half a year or so for better drives and potential price drops.  Price drops being unlikely if AMD doesn't step up and do something.

jUM_eINGUl4 WDrpsv0QIR0 o1DoG6uTYBg dLjQR0UFUd0 Basically without the use of new features if you are sitting on a 1080 Ti the 20 series is not worth it.  2080 is worse than the 1080 Ti in standard graphical rendering, especially with a 1080 Ti OC, and the 2080 Ti is barely ahead with a difference o...
